Rumour.

I'm pretty sure James McLean would love nothing more than to beat the huns

As should anyone playing for Hibs.

I think he’d be a brilliant signing, but doubt we’d be able to offer him the kind of money he’ll be able to get elsewhere.

No doubting his ability but the guy hasn’t played since he suffered an ACL injury in November last year.

I would be steering clear of him (or any player in a similar position) until he’s proven his fitness. He wouldn’t come cheaply in terms of wages and we don’t want another Magennis situation.

I didn’t know about his injury mate, and you are correct we need to stay clear of injury prone players.

No I’m not. Any player deemed not good enough to play for that shower or any other club in Scotland is not good enough to play in our colours as far as I’m concerned
He's coming up 35 , plays left back/left wing.

Who is he really going to dislodge in their squad ?

He would be an extremely good signing for hibs for technically and experience wise.

Plenty other players could do the job just as well probably who aren’t 35. Besides, if he plays the position you say he does I would rather keep Stevenson there who isnae a Celtc fan. Or does he not fit with your “winds up the Huns “ prerequisite of a Hibernian player?

If you actually read what I said

It was it would be his best chance of beating the huns.

Celtic would not sign him so if we were genuinely interested then that would his best chance .
Being a celtic fan and a derry man it is probably something he has dreamt about as a boy.

not my prerequisite at all 😂 I genuinely think he would be a great signing

We get a bad enough press without signing character as divisive as that.
Before you jump on that, I don’t mean to blame him for the inevitable sectarian strife his signing would bring - and it would because the west coast biased media would be only too eager to stoke the flames.
We’re needing a striker too, should we seek to bring Kyle Lafferty to ER? Same vibes.

Lafferty couldn't cut it at kilmarnock last time round so outwith everything else about the guy that's enough

You are the one angling vibes here not me.
James McLean would be a good player fr hibs imo
Him having aspirations of playing against/beating Rangers would again imo enhance our chances of getting him.

As for the rest that you mentioned I'm sure the guy has handled alot worse than the Scottish media and if we as a club were to shy away from signing a very good player on that basis then that is poor

It’s not him that I’m concerned for with regards to the media, it’s the club.

It’s all a moot point though as I doubt the new DoF is looking like bringing a whole team of geriatrics (in a football sense) to have us challenging next season

Currently there are arguably no players in Scotland that would get a game for Rantic. Ergo, none of Hibs current players are good enough to play for Rantic

To be clear I mean Hibs have signed a whole squad of players not good enough to play for Rantic so your point about not wanting a player that isn't good enough to play for Rantic makes no sense.
As you say we already have our quota of old players so McLean won't be joining us.

I disagree .
I think both Boyle and Youan would certainly get in the huns team . Boyle perhaps both .

Boyle or Youan aren’t getting a game ahead of Jota, Maeda or Abada.

Both would be starters for the Huns right now.

I think a fully fit Boyle would get in ahead oh Abada definitely. Jota no. And maeda is just really fast 😂 his football is pretty average.

But agree both would walk into the hun team
Nisbet would aswell last season

If we're bringing anyone in to dislodge Lewis it can't be an old timer.

McLean wouldn't actually be a bad player, but not a work for Hibs imo.

I don't see it.
The Boyler train has probably passed. A spell at Saudi duffers Al Faisaly followed by a two third of a season injury.
As for Youan, he would have been getting pelters at the Rangers for his inconsistency and decision making.
Playing at the OF is a whole different ball game.
Hopefully Boyler returns fit and still fast and Youan can make further progress.
If so I can see Youan being next summers big sale.

Could you imagine when he refuses to wear a poppy again. They'd hang effigies of him in the red tops especially one that's Rangers centric.

They played Ryan Kent for a large chunk of the season . Youan has 9 goals and 7 assists this season. Course he would get in that team.

The Martin Boyle before injury walks into that side aswell.

You'd go for it eh?

£3M please.

I love Boyle, think he's probably the best player in the league *in form outwith the old firm.
But I think there's room for us to look elsewhere for a winger.
We need to recruit properly, but £3m should make that more doable.

Might open a door for McKirdy to actually get minutes too for those that want it.

Looks like a fake Twitter account linking Scottish based players with random clubs…
I hope so anyway!

Werder Bremen are a fantastic football club but I really can't see them paying millions for a player that has been out injured for most of the season. We're not really their market either for players.

Lack of fuck all else to go on probably Kenny :)
The season only finished 17 days ago and we have already sold Nisbet, moved on Cabraja, brought in Le Fondre and laid 2 hybrid pitches.
Never mind it's game on tomorrow with the European draw,
Players back to training on Thursday with accompanying photo's
SPL fixtures released next week.
Further player movement should start happening again after next week.

Just seen that.

A Daily Record exclusive

Impressed on trial and we're looking to sign him. I don't think he has bags of experience but we've already had a look at him, so that bodes well.

Surely he’d be one for the development team, given his lack of experience.
