Whisky

Nae whisky but I'll be on the mother's ruin tomorrow.

My pal is having a garden party (yep I know about the weather).

But of interest to yous lot is that her dad was John Jock Buchanan of first British player to score a goal in European football on these shores fame.

I'm going to see if she would be interested in donating her dad's football memorabilia to the club museum.

And if she says yes then yous lot will get the first look at said memorabilia.

Bunnahabhain Stiureadair

Fuck trying to pronounce that when drunk.

Just opened the Bunnahabhain Stiureadair and having to pinch myself. Think I’ve died and gone to whisky heaven! Thanks to Sancho Panza for drawing my attention to unpeated Islay malt!

Edit: if I hadn’t re-read that post it would have been “unseated Islam malt” which would be a very different kettle of frogs.
You think that's good? Try the 12 year old. Next level.
Also Bruichladdich Classic Laddie when it's on offer. Another lovely unpeated Islay malt. Tesco keep it.

I always think of Laphroaig and Lagavulin when Islay is mentioned and, whilst I like them both, I wouldn’t choose to buy them nowadays. Thanks for the pointer wrt unpeated though.

It's actually well documented somewhere that thousands of years ago ancient islayers were the world's largest exporter of smoked bubblegum. Noah himself was reported to have plugged a leak on the ark with a lump of well chewed islay bubblegum.
Thought I'd read that somewhere that's why I asked. Pity it was driven underground when it was banned by the English after Culloden.

I'm sure Rum has been mentioned on here before so sorry if it's not. How about this folks. 151 proof......

Wow. That's 75% abv. Don't think I've ever seen booze that strong. @Dub is the resident rum expert here.
A geezer from Barbados put the photie up after I stuck a photie of the world's strongest beer.

Made here of course. But if Dub wants to know more I'll find out for him.
