TRUMP IS A See you next Tuesday

Yep. Musk caused the strife that Trump loved by baiting the democrats.

Who fell hook line and sinker to it.

Make America Great Again or Be Nice.

No a difficult choice in my opinion which workers would go for.

I suspect America was "great" in the post war boom.Back when workers earned big bucks, there was white picket fencing, apple pie was cooling on the window sill, when houswives knew their place, blacks were called niggers and gays were I have a maggot punks who got stiff kickings.

Why have my words been changed without my say so?

I think there is something in that. Back then the distribution of wealth was relatively equitable.

As we moved into the 80s the radical right implemented fiscal policies that concentrated wealth into a relatively small income group, a trend that has continued to this day, and will change not one jot under trump except to make poor people even poorer.

At today's presidential church service...
'Let me make one final plea, Mr president. Millions have put their trust in you, and as you told the nation yesterday, you have felt the providential hand of a loving God.

In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now. There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and independent families, some who fear for their lives. And the people, the people, who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meatpacking plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals, they may not be citizens or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals. They pay taxes and are good neighbors.
“I ask you to have mercy, Mr President, on those in our communities whose children fear that their parents will be taken away, and that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here,” Budde said.

Neither Trump nor Vance showed much obvious reaction to her words.

Imagine even feeling the need to ask for mercy - mercy - for marginalised people in the biggest former democracy in the world.

Not like Trump will pay much attention, i imagine the protests willl start fairly soon on the streets, not like the young forward thinking people are going to put up with dinosaur policies.

Also lawsuits are being made already as Trump is already thought to have broken the constitution.

Just had a wee read about Marianne Budde to see what her outlook is.

She is a dyed in the wool liberal in her outlook. Now I couldn't give a toss about her to be fair but she has her own political agenda.

Fair enough.

But I think millions of Americans won't pay the slightest bit of attention to her words as they struggle to pay bills and put food on the table.

And that is why they voted the way they did because the democrats 'be nice' said nowt to struggling folk.

Yup, real progress as opposed to the inversion of the word we have today. Still lots to do but what a clip they were at. And then the 60s happened and the party of the Klan became the party of ‘68 and the causes they championed ravaged the poor but particularly blacks, reversing the rapid progress they had been making in prosperity etc. if ever a people had a party that was their class enemy, feck me.

Then OPEC happened, and globalisation started to happen and the generous provisions given to workers broke companies now arranged against foreign competition. Epic post 60s social destruction continued.

Then Clinton sold out American labour with nafta and working class decline turned to rout, opiates, deaths of despair, abandonment by the democrats who had become the party of globalist exploiters and social destroyers. And of course there is always more damage that can be done to blacks, such as the defund the police carnage. Still, they’re reliably dependent on welfare as a population group, and if they can be kept that way, there’s votes in that thar destruction.

Which, interspersed with some dreadful, spirit draining wars, brings us to today.

America still has in its favour a healthy (by western standards) demographic distribution as its (now precipitous) deChristianisation lagged Europe by decades; so it’s not (yet) facing terminal decline in innovation and public services to the same extent, while innately it had a more can do culture. Its immigration problems are mostly just a problem of labour exploitation and without the desperately dangerous development of parallel cultures that we have in Europe. All in all, in a pretty bad shape but fuckiiiing miiiiiiles better situated than our neck of the woods.

It’s still last chance saloon time though. Trump could turn some of this around - because at least he’s not a steadfast advocate of all the things driving it - but he is also a crackpot and could equally wreck things in 101 ways. If he does, America’s tea is oot, and if that happens Europe is in all kinds of shit without them to look after our frail and elderly arses.

Place your bets.

You like things simple Bossie, huh?

I've just read that Trump has started the sackings.

He just sacked some lassie who championed DEI instead of merit.

Nah I admire those that can simplify and communicate very complex issues.
Ok then, I’ll have a go.

No one doesn’t want people escaping shit holes to be helped.

But the real, concrete and unavoidable cost of an openish southern border, is the destitution of America’s less affluent, notably Hispanics and most especially of all blacks. Eventually there is also a further round of social disintegration on top of that long sown. People retreat into themselves, communities fragment, the social space shrinks; documented sociology findings.

Which way do you want to go here?

Oh and there is no such thing as transgender children. There are a tiny number of transsexual children who may not have a genital manifestation. And there are a far larger number of vulnerable children, gay, autistic and otherwise, who are preyed upon by fucking bampots.

Which way do you want to go here ?

I've seen some political theatre in my time at the Gasworks by the Thames however the signing of US Executive Orders onstage and throwing pens into the crowd tops them all. Dancing with his Mrs onstage is a cracker. Have a look at his deranged smiles and grimaces whilst doing so. The most powerful man on this small planet. What an utter pantomime.

BIG G
It was pretty disturbing particularly the theatrical throwing the pens in the crowd. He's a showman that's for sure. How the fuck could you negotiate with him....

Maybe that's what might give us some positive surprises in amongst other curve balls....

So reading more about this today. Trump hating liberal lefty vicar delivers liberal lefty anti Trump sermon?

Akin to John McDonnel delivering a speech at Davos aimed at the greed is good mob.

Still of the opinion though that the millions of American workers who voted for Trump won't really give a toss about what she preached.

The preacher made a plea for poor working people and the marginalised as they are powerless. But I agree that Trump and his supporters hate these groups of people. They will claim that the sermon is an attack on maga by a communist cos that's what the christian nationalist far right does.

So how does allowing millions of people over the border help the working poor?

She played to her gallery much the same as Trump and Musk did to theirs in my opinion.

I agree with pretty much all of the assertions below. You can see where we disagree...

Overall Assertion

  1. As a rapidly growing economy with low unemployment levels, the United States constantly needs migrant labour and must grow an inclusive and diverse workforce. Agree?

Economic Growth and Job Creation

  1. A growing economy creates a variety of new and existing jobs. Agree?
  2. These jobs include a mix of skilled and unskilled positions. Agree?
  3. A diverse and skilled workforce is essential for sustaining economic growth. Agree?
US Workforce Dynamics
  1. An ageing population leads to an increased number of retirements Agree?
  2. A diverse workforce grows through economic expansion, upskilling and a welcoming workplace. Agree?
  3. With low unemployment, there are limited opportunities to grow the workforce from within. Agree?
Alternative Workforce Solutions
  1. We can increase workforce diversity by upskilling, encouraging unemployed individuals, or attracting non-participants back into work. Agree?
  2. Diversity and inclusion initiatives are crucial for maximising participation in the workplace and opening new opportunities to the working poor. Agree?
  3. It is challenging to motivate people who are not currently seeking work to enter or return to the workforce. Agree?
Economic Growth and Migration
  1. There is an acute demand for more workers in rapidly growing states with low unemployment, such as Texas. Agree?
  2. In places like Texas, workplaces have no option but to become inclusive and diverse and attract migrants. Agree?
  3. Migration programmes are crucial to meet labour demands and support a diverse and growing economy. Agree?
  4. Migration contributes to creating a more flexible and adaptable pool of workers. Agree?
  5. Migrants at the southern border are essential to jobs created by the US economy. Agree?
  6. Migrant workers go to the US because their labour is in demand. Agree
  7. Migrant workers make significant economic contributions by creating jobs themselves. Agree?
Economic Growth and the Working Poor
  1. The working have no political power and cannot easily grow their household income. Agree?
  2. The wealth created by the growing economy is not reaching the working poor. Agree?
  3. Wealth must redistributed from the wealthy to significantly improve the lives of the working poor. Agree?
  4. The US government must provide the working poor with the opportunities to develop skills needed in a growing economy. Agree?
  5. The expanding US economy provides opportunities for the working poor to improve their employment situation. Agree?
  6. A US living wage is required to help the working poor improve their wages. Agree?
  7. Unions are a necessary tool for the working poor, and joining a union should be a universal right for all US workers. Agree?
  8. In the booming US economy creating many jobs, migration does not disadvantage the working poor. Agree?
Additional Considerations
  1. Practical approaches for the social and cultural integration of migrants are essential for inclusivity. Agree?
  2. Migration is essential for maintaining long-term economic sustainability and tackling an ageing population. Agree?
  3. Migration strains public services and infrastructure, which need to be managed effectively. Agree?

I'm all for allowing migrants to come and work if they have the required skills that are needed.

What are not needed are unskilled workers who then get exploited by bosses to make profits.

The Hispanic workers vote for Trump apparently jumped to just under 50%. They can see that millions of undocumented migrants will undercut their lifestyles.

The American work place can seem brutal to us over here. But allowing masses of poor folk in and then paying them sweetie money is wrong.

I keep reading about diversity in the workplace. How about just hiring folk who are best at the job rather than quotas.

Diverse does not mean good.

The working poor aren't poor because of immagration, but because people like Musk hate organised Labour. The immagrents are doing service jobs and working in health and are not well paid.

Unskilled workers are needed in a booming US economy. The government must regulate to protect them from being exploited. Stopping migrant workers will undercut the lifestyles of US citizens, given the jobs they do and the huge positive financial contribution they make to the US economy. Migrant workers are a gift, not a burden.

Workplace diversity needs to be looked at more broadly and not as described by the Daily Mail. Again, employers are not getting the employees they need. Diversity policies look at the wider employee pool and think about how they can make it more welcoming to that pool. For example, working mums cannot efficiently work after three if they need to pick up the brats from school, so you allow flexible working, shared jobs, minimise important activities after 3 etc. As you build a diverse workforce, a more diverse management team will emerge, and the behaviours of previously entitled groups will need to change.

These developments will open up opportunities for your daughters and grand-daughters and will see job opportunities open up to lower-income families. So it's all good, right?

Actually she played to Trump's gallery and Trump hated it.Good on her even though I don't believe in God.

The working poor are poor because of the boss class' greed. Why pay a decent rate when you can exploit someone?

As for the health service. We need to train OUR youngsters. Because all we do just now is take another nations health workers and leave them with no one to fill that void.

From memory you believe in uncontrolled immigration and complete open borders?

In simple supply & demand terms if the immigrants were not doing the service jobs and working in health wouldn't employers need to increase the wages in order to attract employees to their business?

Where did you get that from and when did you become Gordon Gecko?!

1. Labour force elasticity erodes collective bargaining power, reduces wages and t&c. Agree?
2. Offshoring jobs eliminates quality jobs and reduces wages and t&c for those that remain? Agree?
3. Open ended supply of low skilled labour is particularly harmful to the working poor and in the case of the US, very particularly ethnic minorities. Agree?
4. Demand from big capital for the above is partially through greed and partially through the need to be price competitive with overseas rivals. Agree?
5. Overall price competitiveness depends on other key variables alongside labour rates. Most obviously the cost of energy. Agree?
6. Sociology finds that large scale migration into communities reduces social trust both across and within ethnic or social groups, leads to erosion of community centred participation, increased atomisation and social isolation. Agree?
7. Diversity and inclusion schemes have in fact proven to be a complete dud; there is no evidence of benefit while there is evidence of racial discrimination produced by such approaches. Agree?
8. Your list contains a number of false or illogical assertions to check readers are paying attention. Agree?
9. Uncritical defences of the most venal practices of global capitalism, once the preserve of far right demon figures, are now industriously practiced by men of the left. And this is a little queer. Agree?

The preacher made a plea for poor working people and the marginalised as they are powerless. But I agree that Trump and his supporters hate these groups of people.
This is a ridiculous and unfounded claim. Polling has shown that around 60% of Americans wanted a stop to the open border and illegal immigrants deported. Many of the people who support Trump’s policy are in fact working class minorities. This is one of many reasons why Trump won the election.

They will claim that the sermon is an attack on maga by a communist cos that's what the christian nationalist far right does.

Nah, it’s just dumb stuff said by an irrelevant person that appeals to a certain demographic.

The problem we have is that improved medical knowledge saves lives. We now have a growing population especially in old age.People are no longer dieying in their 70's they are living into their 90's and 100's.Pensioners can't be expected to look after the earderly therefore we need immagration.
