Rumour.

It's been the preferred option since Dave started the job.

It's not a criticism, it's just how we play.
Pass around, draw them forward, go long. Press the back once done.
Really?
I do not think that is the case.
Ok, I didnt see as many live games as yersel, but with the arrival of Beardy and his brother on the other side, we mostly got the ball to them ( and McGrath) and got crosses in.
The season we finished 3rd was not much different.

Yeah really.
We go long to them too. Cross field 60 yarders.

Long doesn't just mean hoof to the striker. Although there's an element to that.
And it happened the season we finished 3rd too.
That's why I still bring Mykola up, because he was a massive miss once he left. Bowie, cracking player, couldn't replace Mykola in the style.
Why I still go on about Campbell playing attacking midfield and winning those aerial battles.

We're a direct side. And when we can't go direct, we over play at the back. (Bit less currently l, but a huge issue last season)

I bow to your superior footballing knowledge.
I'm in awe.

Probably not a popular opinion as Passlack seems pretty popular but I would like another rb / rwb, a playmaker and an experienced striker in this window. In fact I would seriously consider putting Mulligan back in at rwb ahead of Passlack and put Newell in beside Chaiwa. Might get Mulligan firing again and gives us more composure in the middle. Passlack is just so unreliable.

Share your concerns about passlack but I wouldn't have newell anywhere near the team

I'm the same with Mulligan at the moment , I don't rate McGrath as highly as others either
I said much the same on McGrath when he signed.
Flitted around for many years and prone to injury.
Not long term injuries, but enough to disrupt team choice.

I think he's probably our all round "best" player but as you say it feels like we are not getting the best of him due to injury interruptions.

I hope we dont sell without replacements lined up. Chaiwa cant be let go unless a player of the same standard comes in. Is it a case that if we qualify hes not going and if we dont hes sold. I hope im reading it wrong. Butterflies already for next thursday. Should be a great night and the fans can be vital.

Hibs seldom put stuff like that in the public domain until its done.
Probably somebodys mate doon the pub may have 'heard somethin'?

Rarely do we ever get multi million offers without there being some real noise.

I reckon there will be outgoings, but I'm no convinced there will be any multi million sales of Mulligan or Chaiwa.

I Wouldnt be shocked either way. I hope there is an experienced striker coming in. Loads of teams will be looking at doing deals and other clubs will be waiting to see how the cards fall. Dont want just a squad filler though. Need someone who can make a difference.

The whole klidge thing quite bizarre. Hes clearly a decent player so must be some reason hes not in the squad. Im sure it will all come out in the wash as they say. Could be sdg doesnt see him as part of the squad going forward but if we dont play him its tough to sell him.

I'm thinking it's to do with the number of home grown players rules in UEFA competitions.

In negotiations to bring Jacob Devaney in on loan from Man Utd. (BBC Sport)
Started in 16 games for St Mirren and apparently impressed.

St Mirren fans seem to have liked him looking at some comments I've seen on the story

"Raging, he's very good. I would take him back in a heartbeat."

"Very tidy midfielder. He was always looking for the ball, whereas some young loanees can hide when things are tough."

Seems pretty level headed in this interview at the end of last season too:

Either of the first two would be perfect for us but no chance we'd get them. They would be used to wages at least 10 to 15 times what we pay. Having said that if they dont get any offers you never know. Its amazing how players drop off the radar.

Apparently Klidje was on the plane to Belgium but not in the squad. Anyone heard if he’s away?
I had a discussion on Facebook with a guy about Klidje who reckons he doesn't get a start because he's disruptive in training, or "so he was told". I said that I hadn't seen anything confirming that on fans' forums or anywhere else on the World Wide Web, but he's 'reassured me' by telling me that he got the info from someone who works at East Mains and who is an ex-Hibs star, which in layman's terms means he's talking out of his arse.

The number of times weve all heard someone say so ive heard about aa rumour is ridiculous. When i was coaching i heard various stories when taking my badges. The only ones id repeat were the funny ones. Keith wright took all my coaching sessions snd he was a hoot. Didnt give much away bar a few wee nuggets. Would never repeat them on here bar positive ones. Got plenty of gossip about hearts as a couple of sessions were at the oriam but couldnt be less interested in them. My take on klidge with no evidence is that he is lets say a character and when hes doing the business everybody overlooks the faults. If he is not them comes the criticism. Its a great pity as there is a very decent player in there.

I'm surprised we haven't moved a few on by now.
Klidje must surely be on the way, and Hanley to the Ayreshire Huns seemed to be on, but all quiet now.
I reckon our recruitment team need to raise their expectations a bit. Klidje has been a horrendous waste of money, Suto blows hot and cold....... the new fella hasn't had time to convince me yet........

We seem able to splash the cash alright, but the issue is that we are signing players then fairly quickly discarding them or not playing them. Sir David is held as culpable for "being stubborn/playing his pals" but maybe the recruitment team should be coming up with players that meet his expectations?

We need more quality.

Rumours about Klidge and Suto being moved on.
Then we have Jacob Devanay apparently coming in on loan.
As has been said, and I am not one to have a go at the club for no reason and I never have any hidden agendas, I know it's very difficult to bring in
quality within our financial restraints....but I do think some serious questions have to be asked about our recruitment in the last couple of years.

Players like Vente, Klidge, Manneh, Youan, Suto etc...all brought in with a big fanfair.
All permanent signings for Hibs on good contracts.
All either ignored, ostracised, or hardly given any game time, then either loaned out or punted at the earliest opportunity.
In their place come young laddies on loan from England...not even our players and yet are starters.
Devanay apparently the latest teenage loanee coming in to basically play where Abdulai (a permanent signing) was supposed to play.

I have nothing to back up a bad feeling I have had for a while now, and that concerns the professional relationship between Mackay along with his recruitment team, and the manager. Are they actually working together in a professional way on all this ?
Are the players being recruited on permanent deals actually players the manager wants or can work with ?

Why are we bringing in young laddies on loan from down south which is benefitting the parent club, and not ours ?
Where are our academy players ?...the likes of Jacob McIntyre and Rudi Molotnikov ?
Why are they not being given a proper chance to prove themselves...these are our players !
If the answer is that they are not good enough to play in the first team, yet teenagers from the lower leagues in in England are good enough, then
what does that say about our much vaunted youth academy ?

I'm not a stirrer, and as I say I know it's hard to build a good team and to develop players, but if before the end of August we see permanent signings being punted again
when they are barely in the door, I do think serious questions have to be asked and answered properly by the club.
The Comms at Hibs just seems to be to promote positive good news things and hype things up which is fair enough that's a big part of their function, but we also need people challenging and questioning the club through the media and fan forums as well.

Melkerson and Tavares as well.

Tavares, wharraplayer👍
My Name Is Earl No GIF

Aye nae bother 😅
Silly season indeed.

Money plus our midfield for those 2 😅

So der hun gets the two players from us that they want, we get 2 players they don’t want but we have to give them big money 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 on what planet do they think that’s even remotely sensible
