Rumours about Klidge and Suto being moved on.
Then we have Jacob Devanay apparently coming in on loan.
As has been said, and I am not one to have a go at the club for no reason and I never have any hidden agendas, I know it's very difficult to bring in
quality within our financial restraints....but I do think some serious questions have to be asked about our recruitment in the last couple of years.
Players like Vente, Klidge, Manneh, Youan, Suto etc...all brought in with a big fanfair.
All permanent signings for Hibs on good contracts.
All either ignored, ostracised, or hardly given any game time, then either loaned out or punted at the earliest opportunity.
In their place come young laddies on loan from England...not even our players and yet are starters.
Devanay apparently the latest teenage loanee coming in to basically play where Abdulai (a permanent signing) was supposed to play.
I have nothing to back up a bad feeling I have had for a while now, and that concerns the professional relationship between Mackay along with his recruitment team, and the manager. Are they actually working together in a professional way on all this ?
Are the players being recruited on permanent deals actually players the manager wants or can work with ?
Why are we bringing in young laddies on loan from down south which is benefitting the parent club, and not ours ?
Where are our academy players ?...the likes of Jacob McIntyre and Rudi Molotnikov ?
Why are they not being given a proper chance to prove themselves...these are our players !
If the answer is that they are not good enough to play in the first team, yet teenagers from the lower leagues in in England are good enough, then
what does that say about our much vaunted youth academy ?
I'm not a stirrer, and as I say I know it's hard to build a good team and to develop players, but if before the end of August we see permanent signings being punted again
when they are barely in the door, I do think serious questions have to be asked and answered properly by the club.
The Comms at Hibs just seems to be to promote positive good news things and hype things up which is fair enough that's a big part of their function, but we also need people challenging and questioning the club through the media and fan forums as well.
