Agreed but my fear is we just launch it more.

I spent last night watching a lot of Scottish football podcasts. It was interesting listening to Kevin Thomson & Scott Brown defend David Gray (both though are pals of DG and both have their laddies in the youth set up). KT in particular thinks we've as good a chance as any getting 3rd.

On another podcast I found myself agreeing with Tam McManus. The performances are so poor that the results won't keep coming. Alan Rough thought we were an awful watch. Alex Rae thinks we will get to the European league section and the League Cup final...

Simon Ferry, Andy Halliday, Derek Ferguson all think we've got a really good squad capable of playing good football.

Derek Riordan says he needs dragged along to watch us....

David Gray correctly talks about our "fantastic start" to the season because bottom line is Motherwell result aside we've progressed in all competitions. I have genuinely though found as a horrible watch and agree with Tam McManus. If we continue to play like this we've some awful results coming our way. We really need to play much much better.

It's fuckin hard to build a squad when your best players are always going to move on. 1st and foremost you need to be resilient. We certainly were not but appear to be getting that trait .
If SDG was playing beautiful football but consistently losing games he would be out the door. Riordan was a talented footballer but by my reckoning he won fuck all at Hibs.
The only stability Hibs can have is in there manager and coaches. Progress is and always will be steady if we want to build a team that wins things and consistently finishes in the top half.
The poor state of football tactics in general now is an expansive team who go gung ho will get there tatties more often than not. The gunts nearly won the league last year, and it certainly wasn't down to flowing football. But they sold out pretty much every week.
We can't be deluded that we are always a club that plays beautiful football. It's simply not true. Yes we strive for it, but if it means we are losing games the fans will demand for change.
