Tv series

Right then, time to watch Happy Valley and see what the fuss is all about.
I tried Ser01Ep01 last night and gave up after about 15 minutes. Hope you find something you like in it cos it seems to get a good press.

Watching Tour Of Duty again. The later episodes anyway .

Thoroughly enjoying it

Tsk. Nae patience gadgie
I was mare knackered than usual yesterday after finishing a job I was workin on for ages so maybe that is why I coukdnae find the patience cos I usually lap up detective stuff.

I might gie it another go... or just go back to language and science vids on YT which never disappoint.

Otoh it is just another fictional tv story so nae biggie eh 😙

I'd stick with it mate. It has goodies and baddies and folk you wish would get taken out in a terrorist attack.

But it is a mainly believable story line.

Watched Tulsa King and have to say, it was pretty decent. Didn't expect much with Stallone in the lead, but he pulled it off.
Usual mob cliché stuff thrown in which does come across a little tired. Story held up throughout and throwing a New York
mobster into the wild west, Oklahoma cowboys and horses etc, well that threw up a few interesting scenes.

Mayor of Kingstown is decent. 1923 the Yellowstone prequel is also decent.

Started ‘The Last of Us’ last night. It’s had amazing reviews on IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes etc. First episode was a bit meh, will give it another episode or 2 but if it doesn’t pick up it’s getting bumped. Not sure if I have another zombie apocalypse in me after The Walking Dead anyway!

Yeah, almost gave it a go at the weekend, seen some good mentions on Twitter... not sure now cos you're a scifi man too, aren't ye, so if you dinnae like it...?

About to watch episode 2 - will report back! Yeah I don’t mind a bit of sci-fi or fantasy, but the pilot episode didn’t really grab me for some reason, a lot of stuff that’s been done 100 times before.

Got to the third episode and watched 10 mins of it and turned it off, not a fan of it to be honest.

Sorry - an oldie and probably already mentioned on the thread but I'm on the 3rd season of Hannibal and I'm about to give up.

1st season was fine but as we got into the 2nd it becomes more and more like an advert for perfume but with added gore. It's too slow, has too many flashbacks, all speaking parts are monotone with the actors using the fewest facial muscles possible, the sound is shite with the non stop background music (atmospheric keyboard samples & shite percussion) drowning out the dialogue and all the main characters should have bled to death at least 3 times.

Do they manage to get to the end of the 3rd season or does the director disappear up his own arse first?

I'm chucking it anyway.

Started that last night before sky made a *&*^ of my connection. Enjoying it so far.

Sky? u need a rethink on that! Wouldn't give any main broadcasters the money when there's many great streaming options out there 😎

Sky Broadband pal, not Sky TV. I have an excellent streaming offering, Sky broadband often lets me down.

Jeremy Clarkson. The marmite geezer. No that keen on the geezer but Clarksons Farm was good telly. All the problems farmers face.

Just started series 2 and I'm quite enjoying episode 1

A new series of The Worlds Mos Dangerous Roads started last night on Dave , hopefully future episodes will be an improvement on last nights one , I found that Leigh Francis an annoying tw*t

The Last Of Us Pilot started off well but the second half got a bit boring. It's been very similar to the Walking Dead so far in the first five episodes.
I don't think it merits the overinflated scores it's receiving. And I did play the first game and appreciate some of the throwbacks to it but still not enough to rank the show as highly as it has been. You're right - it introduces very little to what we've seen a million times before.

Severance on Apple TV is one of the best new shows out there just now if you like a pinch of Sci-Fi and some quirkiness.

Started watching The Gold on the iplayer, about the Brinks-Mat robbery, 2 episodes in and it's pretty good, cast is decent. Prompted me to remind myself about Kenneth Noye, what a nasty bastard.

It's written by Neil Forsyth, of Bob Servant fame. His production company is called Tannadice Road i think.

Watched episode one last night. I was reminding my other half Kenneth Noye was anything but like the cheeky chappy portrayed in this so far...

Watching The Last Of Us. Didn't have a clue about the game etc. Was ready to give up on it, but episodes 4&5 have me thinking I'll hang in there.

Aye I’ve stuck with it too. It’s got a bit more depth to it than The Walking Dead, well so far anyway.

Watched the first two episodes last night and after about 20 minutes I said to my missus, I do hope they are not going to portray Kenneth Noye as a loveable rogue (Arthur Daly) type character.

Whilst enjoying it it doesn't feel "gritty" enough for me in relation to what and who it's about.

Onto series two of BMF (Black Mafia Family).

Apparently loosely based on two brothers from Detroit.

I've recently re-read a couple of Morse books. I can't find any of the original Morses on streaming, but I (re)watched the first couple of episodes of Lewis last night. It makes a great change from the more glossy stuff being produced more recently.
