My work in progress. Gets finished in September.

I take it these are genuine errors rather than photoshop windups.....or Savile tattoo artists!
I see there's a number 4 been inked as IIII rather than IV also. Maybe there are two options....

I'd be demanding a tidy up of any shoddy work such as basic lettering and numbering.

Indeed but on watch faces it's usually, though not always, rendered as IIII (for reasons of symmetry with XIII I believe) - so a tattoo of a watch would be correct if it used this instead of IV.

Every day's a school day.

Thanks Shrink but ofsted will be shutting me down for suggesting XIII opposes IIII (or IV) on a watchface; I did of course mean VIII. Easy to see how these tat mishaps happen :coffee:

I knew that.
:lookaround:

I had a quick swatch (geddit) on Google to check out the IIII bit, didn't pay much (any) attention to the rest of your post.

I'm pretty chuffed if I can find one sentence in your posts that I understand. To find one that I not only understood but found informative far outweighs the fact that you were spouting pish in the remainder.

His mate has said on Twitter that he's getting the XXVI shaded out at MMXVI added at the bottom somewhere. Not so sure what he can do about the time - his mate says the hour hand is in the right place but not on any watch I've ever owned - must buy his watches in Turkey.

Good stuff but he really should have checked everything was correct before he let the inkster loose on him. I agree with you about the clockface, it certainly looks like the little hand is at the 4 rather than the 5. Hope it works out ok because its a cracker of a tatt otherwise.
