I along with countless others no doubt have been waiting for us to lift this cup and now finally it's happened. So I'm going to get the obligatory commerative tattoo
Does anyone know of a decent artist they recommend and although I have an idea what I would like can anyone post up some designs or ideas etc

I had a few beers with Sunshine on Leith after the Links event and he is booked for a tattoo already. No doubt he will post the image on here (warts or rather scabs and all!)

I've also decided to get one.

Actually inspired by something [MENTION=1429]Brainwrong[/MENTION] posted on Cup Final morning... I read while I was waiting on the supporters bus to turn up and thought to myself 'that'd make a great tattoo, might get it if we win today'.

"So with the darkest days behind
Our ship of hope will steer
So when in doubt
Just keep in mind
Our motto:
Persevere"

Once I seen the #PERSEVERED t-shirts it made my mind up for me, was thinking of getting it surrounded by the Harp, Ship & Castle.

Also probably getting one.

Suggestions of good- sympathetic to Hibbys averse to needles- artists would be appreciated.

Forming an idea of what to get...

Hey man

Just in case you thought that was my doing, it's actually inscribed on a piece of sandstone down by the Water at the back of Coburg Street.

Here're my and my daughters feet at it the other week...

I formatted the text, making the flow more obvious. But the original source is not me.

Cheers.

Fair amount of turbulence.

Thanks mate, I knew it wasn't your work but your post inspired the idea; if that makes sense!

It's a great motto & will hopefully make a great tattoo!

Cool :)

If I were getting that text, I'd just go with the text. Subtle. But clear to anyone that know. And, a talking point for anyone that doesn't without obviously being anything to do with football. Which, I reckon you'll appreciate. I like how it's applicable across all aspects of life; Hibs, Leith, Existence!

That's exactly how I feel southfieldhibby I've got two tatts our old badge which is poorly done and looks awful bit like the becks label on a beer bottle which has faded badly but was fuckn agony and I didn't enjoy the experience of my last tattoo which was just as painful

I don't like tats tbh, but I feel obligated to get one. Hibs kept their end of the bargain, reckon I have to keep mine.

I've got an idea of what I'd like and where I'd like it done ( does the top of your foot hurt?..not much flesh there to protect the bone?) Is there a site where you can mess about with a design?

Maybe let us know where you got these done - so we can avoid!

Not many places will do back of hands or feet, especially to a first timer, cos they're notoriously hard to care for afterwards. They'd have no qualms about your ankle or calf if that suits your design.

How do you mean hard to care for? What kind of care does a tat require?!

When it scabs over. If scab comes off too early ink comes with it. Presume feet are tricky cos of shoes, tight socks rubbing against it.

I've got a few tattoos but am no expert,
No Feet or Hands is a common sign in parlours tho. I'd be pretty wary of the standard of an artist who'd give you your first tattoo there.

That's a shame. Keen to have it somewhere not visible usually.
Back to the drawing board!

what are you / we getting then?

I thought we agreed? Lewis Stevenson riding a green unicorn, the Scottish Cup in one hand, Wallace Mercers severed head in the other. I might reconsider and go for the full body David Gray tattoo, what boots does he wear?

You're going first...

thought it was Pat Stanton riding the unicorn..booting wallace mercer into touch through a trail of harps..?

cannae really vouch for my chat in the 72 hours that followed 4.49 on saturday afternoon so might have agreed to anything..

I've got tatts at the top of both arms even wearing a tshirt you don't know they're there.Although my Harp tatt is fairly small I've got a big tatt of my family crest on my righr arm and it totally covered up unless I chose to show it off.

Ho! Stop chorin' my ideas

:rascal:

We can go to Honest Ink oan Musselburgh high Street?

I'll definitely combine some of it with a big battling wooden ship in rough sea (kept a copy of a Leither magazine from 7 years ago with a design).

If anything, part of me wishes I'd drank a little less and remembered a little more!

Likewise , i wouldn't have become embroiled with the polis then either :red:

Im also getting my first tattoo to acknowledge the cup win,.[emoji1184][emoji471][emoji898]

Could it be an idea that it could be done en masse and money going to a charity ?

Surely would be good business for the right tattooist and also help some local charity. And don't rule out a bit positive press into the bargain.

Glory Glory

I thinking I'm going to also. I want something on my heart, probably quite small with a harp, possibly a flag, and the date or the year.

Be getting mine when am finished sunning maself in Turkey thanks to Forza and Brainwrong for the ideas for both

Having seen 4 Scottish cup tattoos between the .net thread and facebook, I'd urge those considering to do your homework on the artist/studio first. Two of them are absolute shockers, one pretty average and one the best of the four by far.

Some artists have a gallery of previous work they have done online - or you could even ask in the shop. If they are any good it should take a while to get an appointment rather than same day or within a few days.

A fair percentage of those saying they were getting their first tattoo when Hibs won the cup have probably been put off for good by these!

Best of the four, not sure if available to view for all

I won't put up images of the others but the owners have elsewhere so must be happy??
The one on .net doesn't need log in details to view.

You'll only feel a bit of a prick for an hour or so

I've felt a prick for over 25yrs for letting one of my tradesmen brothers do the worst version of the worst ever hibs badge on my arm and if you see you will know why

Doc it was a small garage turned torture chamber in a housing estate in Woodburn
I would wager he's no longer trading and went back to being a welder
This is why I'm seeking advice

Just seen the link EEA2007 posted up and I'm guessing that's the good one
I wouldn't mind one like that with MY own details
Do you know where he got that done bud?

Is it possible anyone can post a link up of this guys tattoo?
Or do I need to go to dotnet?

I'm flattered, but my details would look daft tattooed on your leg.
:lookaround:

I think that's Andy Blance's leg in the pic, so I'm guessing it will be somewhere in Fife he got it done, but no ideas I'm afraid.
