Hibernian are said to be interested in Jakub Lewicki, a 20-year-old Polish left-back who plays for Piast Gliwice. (Transferfeed)
I always think that Hibs are the logical home for Poles and wish we'd signed more over the years - I figure we'd grow our fanbase if we made more of this synergy.Hibernian are said to be interested in Jakub Lewicki, a 20-year-old Polish left-back who plays for Piast Gliwice. (Transferfeed)
If we’re going to move away from being stuck with a back three and into a back four (which in turn means we can move away from being a percentage team, to one that can play with more purpose) signing an actual left back is key.
So he's a good runner, but passing, crossing and shooting are poor.
The desire to get forward and move with the ball is a good thing.
The rest can be worked on.
I don't think Passlack is that guy on the opposite side though.
The midfield is gonna be super important if we do transition to a 4.
Too auld now.i think once milligan is back

Genuine question... "Why?"
Celtic is the natural home for Poles.
Polish "travel agents" used to charge migrants for one-way trips to New York on cargo ships and drop them somewhere like Greenock, with a cheery, "Just walk that way and you'll see the Statue of Liberty in half an hour."
Never heard of them dropping anyone in Leith.
Zibi and a few other fringe goalies apart, when did we last have a Polish player?
I still know several folk involved in Non-League football in London. There were relatively few Poles in London when I was involved down there, but "How can we get Poles to come along?" seems a staple question these days.
One ex-blazer I spoke to a couple of years back reported seeing a posse of Polish ultras, with flags & a drum, when his lot played a lowly outfit called North Greenford in a cup tie. Other than that, he'd not seen many Polish fans. "How can we get Brazilians to come along?" is also asked. The original Corinthians, now Corinthian-Casuals, unsurprisingly have a large contingent of Brazilian Corinthians fans. Apart from that, nada.
Good question.

Lots of Scottish cities are "twinned" with lots of places. Likely any number of places been "twinned" with Gaza City, Khan Yunis & Rafah of lateEdinburgh twinned with Krakow![]()
You've obviously not been in Leith/Edinburgh for a while.

If he signs he'll be left on the bench for 6 months until SDG thinks he's acclimatised enough to get a start. So he's a good runner, but passing, crossing and shooting are poor.

Im sure leith has one of the highest concentration of poles per mile in europe or something like that. You've obviously not been in Leith/Edinburgh for a while.
There's lots of Poles in Leith/Edinburgh.
About 3% of the population, the highest of individual country. The Scottish figure is about 1.5%
More than Irish in Edinburgh at 2%!
Why isn't there a thread about these immigrants taking over the city? You've obviously not been in Leith/Edinburgh for a while.

Very peculiar thing to add to a debate.
I've worked with some brilliant Polish lads over the years. The tradesmen who have made their home in Edinburgh.
Maybe someone could start a thread about how so called progressives despise folk who don't hold the same views as them?
But hey....
...no often we see you theseparts
And I was replying to the post before mine mate.you ken this is a thread about Hibs Jimmy...no often we see you theseparts

I dont really comment on the football threads as my visits to Easter Road are now very very limited if at all.
I have too much going on family wise now that going to the football is way down the list of priorities I'm afraid.
But as I said I replied to the post above mine written in kind.![]()
