Rumour.

I really hope Hibs are doing everything they can to bring in Jason Kerr. Use Youans wages to get him in. I'd be raging if he ends up at the sheep.

If we’re going to move away from being stuck with a back three and into a back four (which in turn means we can move away from being a percentage team, to one that can play with more purpose) signing an actual left back is key.

I don't think Passlack is that guy on the opposite side though.
The midfield is gonna be super important if we do transition to a 4.

I think he was signed with being able to transition to a back four in mind.

From what I’ve seen Passlack looks more than capable of defending 1v1, getting up and down the line, and being a threat in the final third… three of the biggest attributes a good full back needs.

Agree the midfield balance in key, but that’s true in any formation.

Need a triantis type figure if we are going a back 4. Definetely need more pace in the team though i think once milligan is back to his best that will help enormously. Would like someone like dykes signed to mix it up and have a plan b.Elding is a tremendous prospect but will need a partner. Suto a good squad player but not a starter for me. Hopefully the recruitment team can see all the deficiences the fans see. Heres hoping.

I always think that Hibs are the logical home for Poles
😂🤔
Genuine question... "Why?"🤔
Celtic is the natural home for Poles.
Polish "travel agents" used to charge migrants for one-way trips to New York on cargo ships and drop them somewhere like Greenock, with a cheery, "Just walk that way and you'll see the Statue of Liberty in half an hour."😂
Never heard of them dropping anyone in Leith.

Zibi and a few other fringe goalies apart, when did we last have a Polish player?

I still know several folk involved in Non-League football in London. There were relatively few Poles in London when I was involved down there, but "How can we get Poles to come along?" seems a staple question these days.
One ex-blazer I spoke to a couple of years back reported seeing a posse of Polish ultras, with flags & a drum, when his lot played a lowly outfit called North Greenford in a cup tie. Other than that, he'd not seen many Polish fans. "How can we get Brazilians to come along?" is also asked. The original Corinthians, now Corinthian-Casuals, unsurprisingly have a large contingent of Brazilian Corinthians fans. Apart from that, nada.

Good question.

Firstly Poland is mostly Catholic.

Secondly, back in the day Leith (and Dundee) were hugely important in the coming and going of Baltic trade routes. Even in the early 1980s I can remember seeing polish sailors in Leith. Then, lots of Poles came to Scotland when they joined the EU and while many settled in the highlands, there were plenty that came to the central belt (though I hear many went back home post Brexit as the standard of living here dropped).

Finally, I do agree that Celtic would also make a logical home for Poles but they smell.

Lots of Scottish cities are "twinned" with lots of places. Likely any number of places been "twinned" with Gaza City, Khan Yunis & Rafah of late😂.
Hard to believe dragging a 20-y-o kid across Europe is sensible, but it's what we do. Every year. Must sign a world class one eventually.

You've obviously not been in Leith/Edinburgh for a while.

There's lots of Poles in Leith/Edinburgh.

About 3% of the population, the highest of individual country. The Scottish figure is about 1.5%

More than Irish in Edinburgh at 2%!

I know there are loads of Poles in Edinburgh. There are loads of Poles almost everywhere in the UK... and they tend to behave themselves... apart from leaving empty Tyskie & Lech tins lying around.

So he's a good runner, but passing, crossing and shooting are poor.
The desire to get forward and move with the ball is a good thing.

The rest can be worked on.
If he signs he'll be left on the bench for 6 months until SDG thinks he's acclimatised enough to get a start.

Why isn't there a thread about these immigrants taking over the city?

Why would there be a thread about that?

Very peculiar thing to add to a debate.

I've worked with some brilliant Polish lads over the years. The tradesmen who have made their home in Edinburgh.

Maybe someone could start a thread about how so called progressives despise folk who don't hold the same views as them?

But hey....
