To challenge Marshall or to replace him ?
He's no youngster at 26.

I would be very surprised if this boy is coming to sit on the bench, 3yr contract plus a Internationalist for his country, he will be our new number 1

Well he's been sitting on Charltons bench.I would be very surprised if this boy is coming to sit on the bench, 3yr contract plus a Internationalist for his country, he will be our new number 1
Because of injury, then the replacement did enough to keep the gloves.Well he's been sitting on Charltons bench.
Conceded 6 in one game and still wasn't droppedBecause of injury, then the replacement did enough to keep the gloves.
I think he's coming up to challenge for the position, and must've been sold to him like that. So you say, he was on their bench - I'd be surprised if he was just swapping benches
So did Marshall tbf.Conceded 6 in one game and still wasn't dropped
Actually, I agree with you.I would be very surprised if this boy is coming to sit on the bench, 3yr contract plus a Internationalist for his country, he will be our new number 1
Actually, I agree with you.
I think Wollacott will be our first choice goalkeeper next season, and that is why he has been signed.
Why would a highly rated international goalkeeper who has been second choice and on the bench for Charlton, leave said club to come up to Scotland just to sit on the bench for Hibs ?
Be surprised if Marshall stays tbh. No idea what's happening on that one now. He’s been signed as direct competition for sure, it’s down to him and Marshall to prove who deserves the gloves.
I’m happy we’ve signed this type of player rather than someone who is clearly only a back up.

I don’t think he’s come in to be No1 immediately but it’s probably the plan for next season as I think Marshall will retire end of this season when his contract expires.
Exactly mate, Marshall was rumoured to be a Maloney signing, where Wollacott is both Johnson’s and McDermotts.
He was a Maloney signing, and he honored his agreement by coming even after Shaun was gone.
I thought he would maybe leave, right up until he signed on with the community foundation.
Wollacot might end up with the gloves, but I dont see Marshall leaving.
I think he'll see out his contract and the view is Wollacot will take over then. If he gets the gloves sooner then good for him.
For all we know Marshall could be struggling too?
Maybe wants/needs to take a step back.. Focus on helping bring others through etc. Seems a decent guy, could see him transition into coaching after the season. Here, or elsewhere. He's got plenty to offer with his experiences, and we've all seen how well he can read the game with some of his sweeper keeper and footwork early in the season.
I am just glad we have strengthened this position because of the big goals Marshall conceded last season. Don’t get me wrong as I was delighted when we signed him, but a change in this position is a positive move by the club.
All signings made with the first team and filling voids are positive.
I'm quite happy with the business done so far.
We needed experienced players, we needed back up at striker and with McGeady and Cabraja leaving there's a gap for a utility player on the left.
Some folk don't want to include Youan because he was already here, but thats long term planning by the club and a big deal done for this window.
We're addressing the squad rather than signing players who we can get a hold of, it shows a plan is in place and I think there will be more business done, of different categories.
We'll see one to 3 players that we can expect to move on in a year to three.
We'll probably see another experienced player and a couple players we can maybe look to get 3 or 4 years out of.
That's 6 I think we might bring in.
Not all will be first team ready and I think that would depend on at least 3 more leaving?
Then the end of the window will happen and a couple players will become available that weren't accounted for. We might still be active in that case.
As long as we get plugging along those lines I'm good with what order the players arrive.
Picking up the experience at the start makes sense, there's less competition and negotiating required for those deals.
