I woudn't be as strong as saying I couldn't give two fucks about him !
However like McKirdy who I incidentally wish well with his recovery , think it would benefit all parties if they both moved on.

Just did a quick Google and looks like you spot on, Stromsgodset have just sold their forward to a Belgium side for reportedly over 3 million and they hope Elias will be his replacement which they hope they can announce this week. I had high hopes for him but his signing has been a disaster for us, if we can get back some/ most of the initial outlay, them get rid and move on

Melkerson for me has been another example of expectations being raised far too high by the club's PR people for a young lad coming from foreign shores. Cost us a fair bit of money as well apparently. He just hasn't been able to live up to the hype being thrown around on his arrival in Edinburgh. In reality what we were buying was raw potential which we clearly thought we could nurture and develop in time and then make a profit on when he was sold. His debut double goal performance at Motherwell in retrospect was probably a hinderance to him in that it just raised fan expectations even higher. He looked lost playing in scottish football. He was too young and needed a proper mentor at the club which we didn't have when he came here. It's been another foreign young player experiment from last year which hasn't worked out as planned. Assuming it's true he is off back to Norway, then I wish him all the best for the rest of his career.

We’ll, quite rightly, have a decent sell on clause. He’s one of Norway’s top young strikers - starting under 21 games recently - so there’s defo something there.

I think he’ll go to Norway, score a few goals and get a fairly big move in the next 2 years.

Hibs will benefit from this so good move for all parties.

Wouldn't have minded him going to a championship team on loan to see what he can do, but I'm OK with him leaving permanently. Still a young lad who I think will have a decent career. Best of luck to him.

It’s not worked yet but I still prefer it to our usual throw ins, where you’ll get Stevenson or whoever doing a beckoning gesture for 60 seconds for his team mates to come closer, only to then throw it to somebody under pressure who coughs up possession.

At least with the long throw in you’re forcing the opposition to defend and you might get something off the 2nd ball.
 
Elian Coussement is reporting that Kortrijk striker Pape Habib Gueye is leaving Belgium to join Hibernian in Scotland. The 23-year-old Senegalese forward’s contract was set to expire in 2024 and it seemed unlikely that the sides would agree on a renewal, given that the striker has only featured once so far this season.

Gueye burst onto the scene in Norway when playing for Aalesund. In two seasons at the club, he scored 25 goals in 59 games before joining Kortrijk in the winter of 2020. In 84 games for the side, he has scored 16 goals. The striker’s best season for the club was 2020/2021 when he grabbed five goals and three assists in 21 starts.

Kortrijk are the only team without a point so far this season. They lost 3-1 at home to Eupen, another relegation candidate. So far, the side have conceded 13 goals and scored just three. To make matters worse, new striker Thierry Ambrose picked up an injury during the game against Eupen.

Hibs have a number of former Pro League players in Rocky Bushiri, James Jeggo and Thody Youan.

Never met the guy but watched an interview with him about his background and love of Hibs. I was seriously impressed at the time. Comes across as a lovely guy. Commentating cannae be easy although some flow through a game effortlessly. I couldn't do it I've tried. I'm guilty of ridiculing some of his comments. Kinda feel for those on audio only as there's long stretches of the game he's silent or just waffling.
