Rumour.

There is no credible source for this.
I can't see it given the players we need for other positions.

Most likely, but its a rumours forum so let's have fun with the stuff that pops up.

A rumour I’m up for liked look of him from the Blackpool games I seen on tv last season.

The signing of Levitt makes  Fiorini a probable non starter.
Levitt needs midfield grafters around him.
Accordingly I think this rumour may be more poop than scoop.

I think you're probably right, but there's no other stories today so we play with it 😁

Yep - I for one am exceedingly concerned that Hibs will get their business done early and give the fans absolutely nothing to angst about in the final moments before the transfer window slams shut.
Actually some truth in this.
I always quite enjoy the last day of the window, with the possibility of Hibs making a surprise signing or two in the last few hours.
In the last few years it's been a bit of a let-down but there have been transfer deadline days which have proved their worth.
I always remember Derek Riordan's return. Couldn't believe it when we got him back from Celtic.
We signed Sol Bamba the same day but he was almost an after thought amongst the fans.
I really hope we get the players we want and need in during this window, but it would be great to also get a surprise signing done in the last few hours again.

Josh Doig confirmed to Torino for roughly £5M.
£1.4m to us, plus the £1m they still owe. So that's good.

Hope they've got a large sell on clause, get some more money down the road.

***£1.4m to us...
Keeps being reported as 27.5% sell on.
Wonder if it is just a straight sell on and not a profit job?

For me it will be 27.5% of the profit which for the fee you quoted would be about £500k plus the £1 million they still owe us on the original deal.
It means we made £3.5 million from the sale of Doig and Verona circa £1.4 million.
Not a game changing sell on but it will pay the transfer fee for Youan or hopefully the transfer fee for a new No.9

Doig, Porto and Nisbet money should afford 1-2 quality players hopefully.
I hope so.
Thing is we have already spent a fair whack of money on Elie Youan, Jordan Obita, and Dylan Levitt.
Wolicott and Le Fondre maybe not quite as much but still a fair amount.
We desperately need a proven goalscorer striker and at least one quality central defender so like you I really hope the Doig windfall money will be invested in those.

Probably nothing in it, but someone on .net said they saw big Myko around yesterday, and apparently his girlfriend posted a picture of him at hibs training camp today that may or may not be an old photo reposted

Yeah her instagram story seems to show in Manchester then 2 pics at East Mains, then back at Manchester.

Then we're not really getting £1.4m from his transfer away.
We'd get the million regardless as it's a part of the initial deal.

It could be either way, the maths is close enough to be so.
But its not being reported properly if the outstanding money is labelled alongside it

Those photos on the wall are this past season right? So can't be photos from when he first came last season
Big Myk signed for Hibs on September 2nd 2022. The St Johnstone game was prior to that on July 30th so a possibility the photos could of been updated at HTC. Well spotted though, time will tell I guess.

Thing is his loan at Hibs ended in the middle of May so he has had plenty of time to do that.

Yeah you’re right but if he hasn’t been at the club due to injury then this might be his first time back to Scotland.

The timeline on his partners story seems a bit varied and looks like they weren’t at HTC for very long as they were back at Manchester about 5 hours after.

A fully fit Kuharevich would IMO be a decent replacement for Nisbet for next season.
Yes he would.
His fitness is my big concern and we would have to be absolutely certain he was over his injuries from last season. He didn't kick a ball for Hibs from January onwards and that's not a good sign. We cannot afford to have our main players breaking down and missing huge parts of the season in the way we saw last season. If we could get Myko for another season fully fit I would be all for that. At least we would know what we were getting, which wouldn't be the case if we brought someone else in from another club.

Would he?
I must be missing something.
I thought we were after an experienced goal scoring striker?
He's played 50 odd games.

A goal every game and a half for us.
He'd do the job.

We're not getting a first choice, experienced goal scorer from another club. So an older head like ALF or a younger player with the potential for a future is the only way to go for us.
Mykola will be a loan if he comes back, that's the real downside for me.
If he goes on and scores 25 goals, we'll just get to thank him and wave goodbye.

I would have preferred to have signed Mykola than Elie Youan and my reasoning is that we have Boyle who can do the job that Youan does where as Elie an Martin can`t do the same job as big myk obviously, not that i dislike Youan just i would have Myk in the team with Boyle and Youan doing the supply

Agreed.

The main reason for me thinking it will be 27.5% of the profit is that if it was that percentage of the whole fee it would be almost pointless Verona selling Doig i.e. if we are getting £1.4 million they would only be getting €500k over and above what they paid for the player.

Either the journalist reporting it hasn't worked this out or is gilding the lily for more Hibs supporter clicks.

They'd still technically get money. Relegation can force your hand at times. Could also be they've secured a good % themselves for his next move.

Although, I do agree, it's usually a profit % for a reason.

Hammi, they didnae get relegated, won the play off against Spezia :giggley:
Relegation would have forced their hand right enough.

Was thinking about Dundee Utd, they still have Behich, Mulgrew and Watt to get off the gravy train.
