Mine was letting my wife remove a no-longer-fashionable dado rail while I was offshore then having to hire a plasterer to skim the walls which in turn resulted in all doors and woodwork being caked with plaster dust. The worst thing I have ever done in the DIY realm is remove decades old woodchip. A hellish job, in an ever declining ambience: as decades of nicotine on the ceiling liquefied under my steamer assault.
