Little things that annoy you.

Aldi have some excellent soups the now Doc I'm going to scran the Pea and Ham soup for my tea.

The company who make them is called Duncan's. As well as the Pea and Ham the Lentil and Bacon is tasty as well.
Duncan make fertiliser too Jimmy.

Wife jealousy you can't do anything about.

We're watching a new series of a show we both like and she points out that someone on it looks like my ex. Foolishly, without thinking, I say "Oh aye, she does a bit". I now have ten weeks of not being able to react to anything this woman says or does without getting snarky comments and side eyes.

Fortunately my missus has never seen any of my ex girlfriends. Not that she would be inferior to any of them anyway………….except maybe the one that was a spitting image of Cheryl Baker in her Eurovision Song Contest performance. 🔥

Pics, as the Doc would say. The camera never lies.

The joys being a bit younger and Facebook existing since I was in my mid 20s.

Place names in Gaelic in parts of Scotland that were never Gaelic-speaking. All down the A9 in Perthshire. Who is it for? Also the Gaelic name is in pride of place with the English one below as if that's the 'real' name for Aberfeldy, Dunkeld or Perth.

Woodlice.
This is not Fife.....

I had a gig writing web copy for a well known global pest control company and these wee bastards caused me loads of extra work because of all the regional variations that required their own bit of content.

Slaters, woodlice, pill bugs, roly polys, cheese bugs... the list was fucking endless

To be fair to Joe, up here we call them slaters as well.

I've just had one for lunch. The lentil and bacon is okay as well but the Chicken and Veg is my favourite.

Cyclists on pavements. Some wearing crash helmets.
Pedestrians are the ones needing the helmets!
Yup can never understand that. Cyclists screaming at car drivers to give them more room as if they own the roads. Pathetic especially when the car driver could well be a bruiser who doesn't take kindly to the remark..

Information Technology

It used to be that information technology was supposed to make life easier, business more efficient and have information at your fingertips. While some IT does achieve this I notice much of it actually does the opposite. It frustrates me to no end the hoops that I need to jump through to achieve what was once a simple task such as a simple phone call to change something. It sends me into an incandescent rage if I have to download an app. Buying a ticket for anything, be it a sporting event or concert invariably involves downloading another fucking app. Pay for parking? Download an app. I recently bought a plane ticket. Four fucking times it took me to complete the transaction and each time the price was different depending on what device, web browser and user id being used. How is that a thing? Someone on the radio was describing how they got into their Tesla and there had been an update. “ Welcome to Tesla 12. Whatever “ please scan the QR code to complete the install. Long story short, the guy spent half an hour/45 minutes trying to get his car started, abandoned it and took his gas car. Imagine trying to do something urgent and this is the bullshit you have to go through to get your car going.

Bikes in my stair. Keep your bike in your house or the street. Better still, just fuckin walk.
