Little things that annoy you.

We were sent to the auld Telford for a heath and safety course.
Geezer giving it the big story.

Only to trip over the electrical cable he had stretched over the floor for his projector.

A fair few chuckles were had at his red face.

Health and safety should be renamed common sense and safety.
How the fuck did we reach auld age, nae helmets for our bikes, walking and dreeping of wa’s, staying away fae the hoose sunrise tae sunset during school holidays, nae mobile phones tae check up on us , playing in the sivers, walking tae school on oor ain fae the age of five .
If you treated yer bairns like that these days ye’d be had up for cruelty

When Stop Cards were the big thing offshore, every crew member was expected to submit at least one per day and it all got to be a numbers game. On a drill ship, a stewardess put in a card saying “observed man going down stairs with his shoe laces untied”. The OIM read it out and said “aye very observant but the most worrying thing for me is that I have a numpty on my crew who can’t tie his bloody laces.”

When working down in new builds in Kelso years ago with the legend that was Jimmy 'cooncilr' Kerr the site agent came into the hoose and berated us for not wearing hard hats.

Jimmy replied that he could see the agents point as a bit artex might fall of the ceiing and imbed itself in our heads.

Of course when we burst out laughing a complaint was made against us.

And anyone who has tried to paint a ceiling whilst wearing a hard hat will tell you how stupid it is as the fucker keeps falling off.

Here's the best one.
"Man observed going down external stairs only wearing one glove, whistling and not holding handrail. When challenged he said he was a Michael Jackson fan and had been picking his nose so that's why one glove was off."
Told him to pay attention, keep his gloves on and "Don't blame it on the bogie" 😉

When did people become comfortable having loud phone conversations in front of strangers? Bars, restaurants, trains, buses etc. It used to be a very private thing or at the very least you walked to a quiet spot so as not to disturb people. My theory now is people want to show off. "Listen to my life" types. Especially Americans.
Can you get a device which will secretly cut off their connections? I'd pay decent money for one.

Absolute "lookatme" types.

I was with the missus in a hotel bar abroad when one of them was giving it laldy on his mobile, making it clear he was the big cheese and tearing strips off the person on the other end. He was actually marching up and down the bar obviously making sure we could all appreciate how important he was. However, when he came out with "I'll be home in a few days, and I'm bringing a real shitstorm with me" I actually burst out laughing. Another bloke then sniggered and made the :852: gesture and a few of us just fell about. Mr Big glared and stomped off.
Twat.

You shoulld’ve said to him, what was that last bit you said, didn’t quite catch it 🤣

Selfish bastards that park in my dad's disabled spot outside his house. Clear sign on the railings.
Latest joker stuck his car there for 36 hours because he has a blue badge. It's clearly not a public disabled space. If you're going to use it for 10 minutes to nip to the shops, I'll look the other way but that's just taking the piss. Would be tempting to find out where he lives and dump my old man's car and blue badge in his disabled spot for the weekend.
Arsehole. 🤬

Is that the rules Sanch? Didnt know that (not being a BB holder). I always thought that spaces outside properties were public spaces, and disabled ones designated for BB holders.
With that not being the case, thats pretty selfish of the other BB holder. Wonder if they knew the rules? (presume the rules and regs are given to folks when they qualify for a BB?).

I think the disabled space marked out by the Council is advisory only - not allocated to an individual, and anyone can park there if they have a blue badge.
That was the case up to a few years ago, unless it's now changed.

Yeah, I'm not sure of the legality either tbh. Just seems pretty selfish behaviour.

I suspect you're right, Doc but it's really the spirit of the law rather than the letter. Whoever parked there must know that the person in the house needs the space. It's not like they can't park elsewhere on the street or on a single yellow. It's not the BB section of Tesco car park.
In the sense of the thread title, it's a little thing but it annoys me.

Completely agree, obviously someone who is 'entitled' to use it, despite the obvious consequences for the resident who requires it.

Folding clothes.

For a long time, I’ve tried it. I mean like nearly half a century.

Cannae dae it. :coffee1:

In telly shows and films when someone is painting. They always seem to paint a room when you can visibly see they don't have enough materials.

Seldom see them paint the tattie.

They never cut in before they roll the Henry Halls either.

Usually nae dust sheets doon either.

Crap brushes and rollers and nae roller pole.

Manage to paint AND complete the whole room in a couple of hours. Nae drying time.

They never have a cairry oot or a radio playing.

This might not be immediately obvious to most of you. I can't see it happening in Edinburgh, but pedestrians on holiday casually walking up the middle of the road oblivious to drivers trying to go about their daily business. I had one today just sauntering along the road when there was a pavement six feet to his left. I couldn't pass him because there was a long line of traffic coming towards me so I gave him a quick toot of the horn, then a second when he ignored me, I checked he didn't have earbuds in then a more serious third when he continued. Cheeky bastard actually waved his fist at me.
Only my age and the fear of Thai police cells saved the *&*^ 🤬

In a programme when someone gets murdered and a suspect is rounded on by another character with a direct question like:

"So you had a big argument the night before - did you kill him because of that?"

The camera hangs on the accused's face for a few long, seemingly meaningful seconds...

...then next thing you know, we are away somewhere completely different, different characters, unrelated conversation starting up...

And for the rest of the programme, we never get to hear how the accused replied, if he replied, if he blew up the fkn room, if he.....

💥💥💥💥💥

Absolutely happens in Edinburgh during summer. Especially in particular spots, like where George IV bridge meets the high street. Tbf parts of the pavement have long been impeded by works, but it’s the way folk just wander around guileless and seemingly unaware they’re stepping into traffic.
