Again, your assuming that I am meaning you.

One of the great qualities of a person, is the ability to see their own faults and correct them. First part accomplished, second partAgain, you're assuming that I am meaning you.
Think it’s a Scottish thing - crappy advertsNearly every advert on STV, not just the SCOTTO twat @joethehibby rightly points to.
The boiler company, with that wee brat, the salesman who says he's a designer, the got tae be innit tae winnit, and most of all that voiceover guy that does the "Big Saaaaaaaaale". Fuckin idiot.
I wonder if it's a deliberate ploy to make these ads as grating and fuckin annoying so that we will remember them?
Trouble is they are nearly ALL so dire that I'd rather listem to fingernails on blackboards.
Or chalk boards nowadays I suppose.
Josh widdicombe. *&*^
The local school authorities warn against nail-dragging on the new classroom touchscreens...
Trouble is they are nearly ALL so dire that I'd rather listem to fingernails on blackboards.

Not guilty mlud, never used it in my puffText speak. I believe it's frowned upon here.
Adults...unless you're laughing out loud stop using lol in place of proper punctuation. It's infantile. Using it more than once in a paragraph is unforgivable. More than once in a sentence is a shooting offence![]()
Is rofl ok?Text speak. I believe it's frowned upon here.

In all seriousness though, lol and the likes are quite literally the same as the smiley you have used, and served the same purpose. They predate the graphics from when the tech wasn’t there for those and have carried right through into the code for those smileys. Those of us that came through that period are stuck with old habits I think!Only once you're back in your chair![]()
I’m beginning to think I’m the only mug that pays a bus fare these days.
Why do so many people have concession passes to travel around the city?
I’ve lived and worked here my whole life and I’ve always had to pay.
Why why why????
Rant over!
I'm never entirely comfortable using smileys but these days, so many people, not only talking about here, are only too quick to pounce on something they've taken the wrong way.In all seriousness though, lol and the likes are quite literally the same as the smiley you have used, and served the same purpose. Now I think about it I can see the similarity where I didn't think about it before.
Smileys..OK and informative.
LOL..childish and nonsensical.
LOL![]()

That gets on my tits as well. Adverts with a voiceover giving information on the product/service they’re trying to sell you and there’s a constant tune almost drowning out the speech.Have to agree about adverts, annoying and noisy either with a 50 piece orchestra or a heavy metal band on the soundtrack...
Mm thanks for that. I wasn't aware. Going to have to rethink my posting style.Just occurred to me BK, if you always insert smileys by clicking the menu, you might not be aware of what I was talking about with the code. lol quite literally is a smiley in primitive form along with things like ;-)
