Little things that annoy you.

When watching american ( usually ) golf tournaments ( for betting purposes ) and some bevvied up yank shouts “ get in the hole “ at someone’s tee shot on a par 5 🤡
Second only in cringeworthyness to the assole on the scotto adverts 😡

I’m beginning to think I’m the only mug that pays a bus fare these days.

Why do so many people have concession passes to travel around the city?

I’ve lived and worked here my whole life and I’ve always had to pay.

Why why why????

Rant over!

Nearly every advert on STV, not just the SCOTTO twat @joethehibby rightly points to.
The boiler company, with that wee brat, the salesman who says he's a designer, the got tae be innit tae winnit, and most of all that voiceover guy that does the "Big Saaaaaaaaale". Fuckin idiot.

I wonder if it's a deliberate ploy to make these ads as grating and fuckin annoying so that we will remember them?
Trouble is they are nearly ALL so dire that I'd rather listem to fingernails on blackboards.

Or chalk boards nowadays I suppose.

Think it’s a Scottish thing - crappy adverts 😩

Text speak. I believe it's frowned upon here.
Adults...unless you're laughing out loud stop using lol in place of proper punctuation. It's infantile. Using it more than once in a paragraph is unforgivable. More than once in a sentence is a shooting offence 😡

Is rofl ok?

:giggle

Only once you're back in your chair 😂
In all seriousness though, lol and the likes are quite literally the same as the smiley you have used, and served the same purpose. They predate the graphics from when the tech wasn’t there for those and have carried right through into the code for those smileys. Those of us that came through that period are stuck with old habits I think!

Talking of buses, I really don't like when people do the passive/aggressive thing of sitting on the aisle seat and leaving the window seat empty. It's always a drama as you have to ask them to move so you can sit down.

I'm never entirely comfortable using smileys but these days, so many people, not only talking about here, are only too quick to pounce on something they've taken the wrong way.
Now I think about it I can see the similarity where I didn't think about it before.
Smileys..OK and informative.
LOL..childish and nonsensical.
LOL 😂😂😂

Agree with textspeak, folk who walk into traffic gawping on their mobile phones, folk who smoke while driving and folk who take trolleys through the express checkout..

Just occurred to me BK, if you always insert smileys by clicking the menu, you might not be aware of what I was talking about with the code. lol quite literally is a smiley in primitive form along with things like ;-)

Have to agree about adverts, annoying and noisy either with a 50 piece orchestra or a heavy metal band on the soundtrack...
That gets on my tits as well. Adverts with a voiceover giving information on the product/service they’re trying to sell you and there’s a constant tune almost drowning out the speech.
The only upside on the use of music in adverts is when they have an ‘old’ song as the theme and you remember it from your youth and dig out the album (either physically or from Spotify) that you haven’t listened to in years

Mm thanks for that. I wasn't aware. Going to have to rethink my posting style.
Perhaps I'll do the Thai thing where 555 is common. The Thai number 5 is pronounced "Ha" so 555 is hahaha

Heres a wee vid to highlight my most annoying annoyance :-

A driver has arranged to give you a lift in their car. When they arrive the passenger door is locked and the seat full of junk.
