Anyone going to travel with Hibs in Inter Toto?

The C Monkey :pizza:, Big Goosey grandpa and Muffer (licking birds oot smiley) have booked for Sweden to take advantage of good flight prices.

If Hibs get into the Uefa or Elfville get turned over by the Faroese fishmongers they are then going to attempt a world record of swedish flapbashing instead.

you mind not saying that on a public message board, C Monkey and Muffers burds might be looking in. Big Goosey he'll just commandeer a small aircraft and fly over

how much are the good flight prices?

Depends on where we end up at the end of season, many will hud fire, maybe after this weekend we'll have a better idea?
People might hope we pass the more than likely Swedish test and set ourselves up with the more than likely Irish match-up.

Might get a better travelling support to Ireland than Sweden due to it being slightly cheaper. My recent trip to Gothenburg wasn't too bad, but then i wasn't hitting the bevvy too hard. At 4 a pint it could be expensive for a lot of fans.

Boras is a great wee town. I was there three years ago just when Elfsborg's new ground, the Boras Arena was being completed. Their old ground was pish. Like Central Park, Cowdenbeath but with snow.

What a shower of defeatists i wasnt aware our hopes of europe were totally out the box yet like:hmmm

Planning on going to Sweden if that's what happens.

Not much of a gambler so haven't booked up the flights yet but have been looking into it. A couple of weeks before isn't much time to get organised!

I suppose the main variables are whether we'll finish 3rd (personally doubt it!) and whether Elfsborg beat the team from the Faroes (probably!)

What would you Guys think?

I would sort it out as soon as 3rd place looks unlikely as no doubt others will be.

The Faroes team are top of the league currently after 3 games but last season they must have finished 3rd in a fairly poor league to end up in the Intertoto this year.

They were in champs league qualifiers last year and got beat 4-1 in first qualifying round by an Icelandic team. In the 2007 intertoto the faroes team lost 3-1 on aggregate to Hammarby from Sweden and the Uefa entrants lost 6-3 on aggregate to Lithuanians.

In addition to the above they have a Polish Goalie :surp@

Thanks for the information.

Been looking at other routes to Gothenburg including KLM via Amsterdam and BMI via London and the prices aren't that much more than Ryanair at the moment, don't know how much that'll change come the middle of May.

Anyone know the exact date the game in Sweden would be played on?

I'd definitely be up for going if we don't make the UEFA. Sterling Airlines do direct flights from Edinburgh to Stockholm, not sure if that's any good? :dunno:

Sterling

I will be there. Isnt there a swedish hibs supporters club based in Gothenburg?May be they could organise / find cheap digs.

Maybe our resident TA, Southfieldhibby, can come up wae something more pleasing to the fans eyes, and pockets. :hmmm

Mark and I have already began discussions C!

A lassie who works with me in Dublin is from the west coast of Sweden and has filled me in on the best options.:cool

Bounce Airtours!

Sounds like a plan.

Mark,

Are you thinking about a bounce tour or is this for individual travel, if it's for individuals could you fill me in as I'm definitely keen to get organised, cheers!

As others have said myself, Zondervan & Muffer have taken the gamble & booked Fri-Mon in Sweden. If the worst comes to the worst we've still got a weekend in Sweden which isn't a problem :bbb:

There are Swedish league fixtures the weekend of 12/13 July so if Hibs aren't there we can either catch a Swedish match or watch Falkirk !

Flights & train cost us around 120 all in.

PS I still hope Hibs finish 3rd & if they do I'll still be at the UEFA Cup tie(s).

208quid approx from edinburgh - gothenburg with KLM.

Various ryanair options for less that that
prestwick to gothenburg.
stansted - gothenburg and find a cheap flight edi to stansted (easyjet).
gothenburg - dublin and find a cheap flight to edi from dublin (ryanair).

You dont have to use same route or airline going as coming back.
The dublin-gothenburg flight leaves too early to get there in time but you can come back that way easily.

Here's a list of airports that have budget flights to gothenburg city - Cheap flights to Gothenburg Save - find a cheap flight to one of these

whichbudget.com will also show budget flights to malmo and copenhagen which are 3 - 5 hours on a train.

Any charter will be a lot more expensive than those options.

I certainly hope to be there. What's the best option? Fly to Copenhagen then the train via Gothenburg?

Can go Edinburgh - Stansted & then Stansted - Copenhagen with Easyjet. Train then goes direct from Copenhagen airport to Gothenburg. Then fly back with Ryanair Gothenburg - Prestwick finishing off with a train home. This comes in around 135 all in.

Sterling fly Edinburgh to Copenhagen but only on Thursdays & Sundays so you would be relying on the game being on the Saturday. It was also 180 last time I looked which was a few days ago.

A pint in temple bar is not far off that pal.

Wont be able to do Sweden due to other travel arrangements but Dublin (or Wales or wherever) is a definite goer.

After the last jaunt to Dublin a couple of years ago for the pre-season tour it is something I would go back for in a heartbeat :smug:

You know Hibs are in town when you're innocently walking across a bridge over the Liffey and you bump into 1875 and Stevie C :bbb:

Me and the laddie were going but he's got his T in the park tickets and said it's over the same week end.

Will have to get some of the mates interested now.

Here's hoping.

Some good routes posted up here lads. Thanks, it saves alot of work.:bbb:

i'll hold fire and see if we get into UEFA cup 1st.
Failing that, here's hopin we beat the Swedes and set us up for another return to the great country of Ireland:bbb:

how good would that be :thumbgrin
