Well to be honest the situation really is confusing with RF making slow but some progress in Luhansk and have almost took Severndonesk. Now it is said the UF are not surrounded like they were in Mariupol, however the bridge behind them has been blown so I don't really know if there is an exit strategy and Ukraine do not really need for another couple of thousand troops to be taken prisoner. It is not that they don't have plenty more but these guys are highly experienced and tried and tested vets now. RF have also managed to build a land bridge where they can alternate troops and bring forward supplies and reinforcements which is not good.
But while RF concentrate further North and also bomb the shit out of Kharkiv again, UF and making major advances in the South towards Kherson, the first city to fall. RF are having to move reinforcements into this direction. Long range missiles continue to fall on Mikolaiv but UF continue to push deeper into enemy territory. Meanwhile reports that UF have dropped mass bombs and missiles on Snake Island and hit oil rigs in the area. Snake Island is very strategically important for bringing forward anti-missile and aircraft batteries as well as communication systems and RF have been bolstering the island but it looks like it is currently being destroyed. Fires are still blazing on the rigs owned by Chernomorneftegaz who are sanctioned by USA

UF have also improved their position around Zaporizhzhia thanks to Western weapons arriving. I do believe RF despite razing half of the Easter state to the ground will end up too thin on the ground to hold much territory.

Another Russia SU-25 fell from the sky probably as a result of pilot error who is believed dead.

Slovakia want to hand over 30 tanks to Ukraine but Germany, who promised to replace them with Tiger tanks said they are only worth 15 Tigers. Been a while since I posted any updates. The situation is not particularly clear as one side counters claims of the other. What I will say is that the true picture right now is probably skewed as troops move around and battles become more concentrated.
As Russia realised their bittzrieg tactic would not work they pulled troops back from Kiev area to concentrate on the East and South. The main concentration is the East and there is reasons for that. As Mariupol finally fell, RF could move vehicles more freely from Russia through Luhansk saving them a longer journey from Crimea. They of course held Kherson from the first day of the war but were stalled trying to come through Mikolaiv which meant they have never been in a position to attack the key coastal city of Odessa. They also hoped for a commando style attack on Odessa from the Black sea but took losses in ships/boats and retreated to safer waters. So the situation right now in the East appears to see RF holding around 90% of these areas. But RF have been quite flawed in their strategy. Whether they admit it or not they pretty much have used a scorched earth policy, smashing residential property everywhere they go. This is not going to win hearts and minds and probably is resulting in a greater local resistance loyal to Ukranian troops. While i]Russia also have taken so much area it is one thing taking a town or city, but a completely other thing holding and governing it, and as they move in all directions they need to leave behind some troops and Police to uphold order. Many towns or cities though are so destroyed there is little left to even watch.

So what are UF doing? Well firstly they were taking huge losses in the East from continual artillery barrages so pulled a lot of troops back in order they did not become encircled like the Mariupol defenders. Yes in some cases they would have been forced to retreat. But the important thing here is they appear to be digging in to certain areas and can inflict greater losses on RF without having to counter attack which leads to less losses but holds the RF from the progression they would like. This is deliberate as UF get into position the longer range artillery from the West set up.

But eh bigger news is that UF have been conducting a larger counter attack in the South. They are a few miles from Kherson and this appears to have woken some resistance in the area to carry out some sabotage operations. In addition over the last week UF have claimed to have blown up around 15 ammunition dumps and ammunition trains as well as several command posts, killing more Colonels and generals in the process. It has been noticed that vehicles have been moving from Belarus to reinforce losses in the East. RF tactics are becoming more erratic as they hit residential units whether deliberately or because they are now being forced to use older inaccurate weapons. Why then is UF not winning? Well basically because RF have just so many troops and ammunition/guns but that is changing. There is mobilization in the East and Southern areas under Russian control as they seek to bolster their ranks without having to recruit actual Russians who largely are resisting any type of conscription. As a result many of these troops are untrained and even over 50. A lot of them are used for defending air bases and warehouses. So the more RF are stretched the more their weaknesses will be seen.

There have hardly been any RF planes or helicopters hit in recent weeks after seeing 2-3 daily being shot down. This is because they stick to their own front lines and rarely venture further into Ukraine knowing UF have many air defence systems. Meanwhile UF are being supplied with aircraft and conducting many raids particularly around Kherson.

But the war will drag on because of numbers, something Zelensky is trying to address by recruiting more troops to which he hopes for an army of one million, obviously not all front line. He likely will not make that number but their troops are being trained properly. 10 thousand in UK are being trained while there are others in countries like Czech rep. Trained troops are worth far more than untrained. While better weapons are flooding into Ukraine as well as superior radar and other comm devices.

Several more ammunition dumps and control headquarters have been hit. Russia obviously have millions of ammunition, but day by day they are going to require finding a whole lot more as masses go up in flames.

RF probably in an attempt to stem the flow of ammo dumps being blown up appear to have sent truckloads of ammo to a theatre hall in Kherson

A video of a little girl age about two was released of her minutes before she was killed by more incoming shells from RF in a residential area.
RF hit the centre of Vinnitsa which is miles from the front line. They hit with high precision missiles which are accurate to 2 and a half metres...so it was a deliberate attack on civilians yet again. A baby was found lying dead in a pram. 2 other children and at least 21 others were all killed with over 50 injured and 42 missing. Russia claim they were militants, but few people are listening to Russia nowadays.

As the war is still going on here is a few things from last wee while. Ukraine has been pushing back most offensive moves in the East as Russia try to consolidate what they have and move further inland. However Russia are moving some of their forces which get depleted by the day further out towards Kherson where they are in a sticky situation. UF have bombed three bridges to the South where RF would seek to use to either reinforce or retreat. The move comes as a little surprise to some in the West as many felt it better to leave an option to retreat and potentially avoid a bloodier battle in urban areas. Ukraine obviously felt the threat of reinforcements was higher and perhaps seek to isolate Kherson and trap RF as they had done to them in Mariupol.
Over the last couple of weeks UF have been setting favourable conditions for a counter offensive in Kherson by attacking and destroying 50 ammunition dumps (which also may include ammo trains. Several fuel dumps and a few command centres killing many senior officers. A lot will depend on the troops RF bring South at which one tank on it's way today ran over a car killing 2 kids and their parents on the main highway.

Russia have been trying to recruit from mostly rural areas and from various provinces, so much so that at least one is realising what is happening and refusing to send more young men. Meanwhile Wagner are recruiting from Prisons, promising a years contract for eventual freedom, but pointing out it is likely only 20% of prisoners will avoid death or serious injury. Remember when Russia complained Ukraine might let prisoners loose when Russia attacked? Russia also are against merceneries but clearly it is one law for them...

Two SU-25s have been shot down in the last two days as Ukraine are furthered bolstered in air defences from the west and have now 16 HMARS. There is nowhere in Ukraine cannot hit now and they art taking out a whole lot of RF missile launchers and rocket launchers. Russia though still have superior numbers in just about everything however lack quality in recruits who are basically cannon fodder. RF appear to be just blowing everything and anything up in their path whilst UF target military targets to great effect, so much so that Zelensky said their losses are down to about 30 a day from over 100 a day.

Iran has been said to have sent several drones to Russia which prompted Israel to strike and destroy a factory/warehouse in Syria which is supplying Iran with drones.

Slovakia are considering supplying a further 11 Mig-29 aircraft stating that the Czech rep and Poland will then cover Slovakian airspace. Slovakia also seek financial aid to purchase new planes.

Kazakhstan is strengthening it's army, fearing a war with Russia. A senior official stated, "If they (Russia) didn't have Ukraine to insult it, would we be next?

Belarus plans to purchase 1000 body bags. Why? No idea, maybe donation to Russia. Lukanchenko continues with his world war rhetoric and how Belarus will destroy anyone who dares attacks them, whilst in reality no one cares about Belarus. To put into perspective what I said about Russia recruiting from poorer areas, in Kyrgyzstan they are recruiting for people with minimal requirements. For example No military training required, criminal record acceptable, delete your social media and bring a phone that does not have a camera. Pay is 240k rubles per month. The wars may change but the abuse of the poor never goes away.
