World cup 2026

Morocco done well to get to the quarter finals, but that was their limit.
A good counter attacking team, but they needed their best players to be available and on form to even have a hope of getting past France and neither of those things happened for them.
France look formidable, and when you even look at their bench you see a squad well equipped to win this World Cup.

Not even glanced at a match.
Only bits I've seen on BBC or YouTube are Kane's missed & retaken penalty kick, Messi's first missed penalty kick, the disallowed Egypt goal v Argentina, and the Ing-Er-Lund lad's just-below-the-knee Souness tackle v Mexico.
In France we trust🙏. Safely into the semi-finals... as is their boy at Wimbledon.

Indeed, they turned on the tap when they needed to. Too much quality for Morocco. Their joint hosts in 2030, expect an improved performance.

Once france upped their game there was a huge gulf in class. Not convinced by their keeper but when you have the firepower up front they will cover that im sure. Morocco incapable of changing their game once they went behind. Players drilled to play in one third of the pitch found it hard to then go on the attack. Never understand why you dont keep you centre forward on the half way line. Keeps 2 defenders occupied plus gives you a focal point when you win the ball. Morocco were rapid and can hurt teams if set up slightly different. Whenever they won the ball the striker was 10 to 15 yds from their box thereby negating any chance of a quick counter attack. France showed how effective that is. Had mbappe stayed on it would have been a gubbing but they didnt need to.

England v Norway is going to be very tight IMO.
Both similar sort of teams, well coached and very well organised.
They also both rely heavily on one player to get their goals, and it's who comes out on top there that will be decisive.
If Jude Bellingham plays as well as he did against Mexico that could make the difference.
Will be close but I think England will edge it.

Great day ahead for me on Saturday. 5 absolutely top class International rugby union games in the Nations championship. No time wasting, cheating, faking injury, screaming like wee lassies, shouting at the ref, incompetent refs, corrupt refs, spitting, emptying noses on the grass. Just full on hard sport between real men.

Really? Is this your evidence that rugby refs are as bad? 🤣🤣🤣

A lot of it is just culture? I think the respect for the rugby refs is just endemic to how rugby is played.

My youngest plays football and rugby and the way the refs are treated are bafflingly different. Never heard a cross word said to a rugby ref, but never heard a football game go five minutes without someone moaning about decisions.

When I was playing rugby backchat to the ref meant giving up 10 yards to the opponents.

I've got a lot of rugger bugger friends. They are unanimous in saying the refs just make it up as they go along 😆

I think norwayvwill win due to england being poor at full back and norway have very good wide players. A lots of haalabds goals are created from wide players and get a lot of chances around 12 yds out. Unless pickford has a great game 2-1 to norway. No stress. If only. Not sure whay would have been worse. Gunts winning the league or engerlund somehow nicking the cup. Tough call.

I'm planning a great day tomorrow too: Musselburgh Athletic v Hibs Development. And nae VAR!

Gunts winning the league would have been far worse.

Considering the English ref gave a handball for ball hitting shoulder first half that could well have been given as handball....
