World cup 2026

England v Norway is going to be very tight IMO.
Both similar sort of teams, well coached and very well organised.
They also both rely heavily on one player to get their goals, and it's who comes out on top there that will be decisive.
If Jude Bellingham plays as well as he did against Mexico that could make the difference.
Will be close but I think England will edge it.

If they do, sets up a Diego inspired game against Argentina another Hand of God moment ?.

All Norway had to do in additional time was to keep possession and see the first half out, instead their goalkeeper blooters the ball up the park straight to an England player and they pay the price for giving the ball away when there was absolutely no need.

England's two genuinely world class players Kane and Bellingham are carrying them through this tournament.
Kane just offside and no more on the stroke of half-time.

Hard to see how this one goes from here. England have dominated possession with Norway content just to sit in and try to hit on the counter attack. I think Bellingham's goal will have given England a massive boost though coming as it did right before half-time. Norway need to be braver on the ball to have any chance of winning this game from here.

I reckon Norway’s game plan didn’t involve defending a lead for 60 mins.

They might be more comfortable now it’s level again. Haaland hasn’t been much involved yet.

He never does do much, barely touches the ball during a game. Big bastard is absolutely deadly though, you just can't leave him out.

Looks like England's first goal should not of stood, ball hit the camera in the sky, under Fifa rules it should have been a drop ball.....

Norway are fukin terrible 🫣 What's awe this back /sideways pass ??? Get it FORWARD!!! Don't you realise you're losing FFS 🤬

Aye. They turned to shit after England’s 2nd goal. Don’t know why they didn’t get the ball in the box more when Haaland was on? Too much fannying about by their wide players

I noticed that Harland was limping for all of the second half, surprised it took them so long to take him off.

Disappointed but not surprised at the result. Disappointed at England’s blatant cheating. Disappointed in Haaland’s lack of fire but I’d be more proud to be Norwegian than English today. Hopefully Argentina can save us from the next level of England hysteria.

Didn't see the Argentina game but it looks like they struggled to win and were again taken to extra time.
I'm not convinced by them, and it's hard to pick a winner between Argentina and England.

Pleased to see a player diving being rewarded with a red card.
I've said for years that diving to get a penalty or to get an opponent sent off should be a red card offence.
It would stop overnight.

The manufactured penalty for England was correctly overturned and the reason given. The ref got it wrong, but spotted the player pretending to be fouled when VAR intervened.
Despite the clarity of the decision, one of the commentators insisted iit WAS a penalty as the player had been “protecting the ball” rather than cheating.
A new one on me.

Commentary last night was up there with the worst yet. Whispering Lee Dixon, an average player 40 years ago, still mumbling inane bias about the Norway goal and that penalty decision ages after they occurred. The other guy saying the English defence needed to be a Wonderwall almost made me boak (is that how you spell it? Never written it out before :)
