This was an itch I just had to scratch. Got a bottle and had a couple of glasses with puttanesca this evening. Very nice. Drier than the southern Italians I normally drink. Reminds me a bit of Barolo.A good brunello is fabulous. The supermarket ones...not so much. I talk as if its a regular sup so I should point out this assessment is based on a handful of experiences in a lifetime lol.
I tend to the philosophy that its better to buy a top wine from a less prestigious category than a low end wine from a more prestigious one. In other words an expensive Chianti is likely better bang for the buck than a cheap Barolo.
£5.50? That's a steal!I have went full circle, Campo Viejo Tempranillo £5.50 on a deal in Morrisons, its superb.

Eh less o the wino’s , you on commission, given up on the decorating
another good Italian wine that’s regrettably hard to get in our supermarkets is Barbaresco. Same grape as Barolo I think. That is a very nice wine indeed
Got a bottle but not opened it yet.
Well after that Hibs performance today, my only advice to fellow Hibbies is start drinking. Heavily.

Lucky man. Love a good Ribera del Duero.Noted, might treat masel regardless of the result. I am in Spain next week, not far from the vineyards of Ribera. I expect robust, headache generating good swally.

A favourite of jobbie Shankland?Just cracked this open last night. Bought a while ago and forgot I had it. Lovely Portuguese red. Well worth an Ayrton.
An Ayrton in Tesco.Just opened a bottle of Pepperbox Shiraz and have to say it’s rather good. It was given to me so don’t know how much or where to get it, but if you like a Shiraz you’ll like this one.
