Tv series

Not watched adolescence, but seen a clip on the news. The boy shouting at his teacher should be given the belt / strap pronto . That’s what’s wrong nowadays . Canny dae this, canny dae that 😡

I'm torn with this. Agree about the fantastic acting in bits but the plaudits are over the top. Mind you this coming from someone who historically goes against popular opinion re all the arts. Mostly comedy and cinema.

About that adolescence clip, perhaps there wouldn’t be so many assaults on teachers nowadays by kids who haven’t had a bit of discipline in their entire life . Education will be the next thing to suffer due to lack of staff 😡

No a telly series as such but this lads YaTube channel has some brilliant stuff on it.

The film that's getting made about Quanah Parker should be a cracker.....

The clip above also introduces one of the things that changed warfare forever amongst the tribes.

BK. As you watched Sons of Ann Archy did you know there was a sort of follow up series called Mayans MC.

It's more of the same with Mexican music this time.

No I didn't. Got really bored with SOA so if this is the same I'll probably give it a miss 👍

It's pretty bad. Some of the same characters are in it. That show that's just went online This City is Ours is worthba watch.

Only 8 episodes.

And MobLand first episode is online as well.

Watched the first episode of This City is Ours last night, good start.

It is. I binge watched all of the episodes. Us auld yins can do that now 😁

I watch loads of stuff Beagle. I prefer true life documentaries. I watch films adapted from books I like but the film is usually gash.

Once Were Warriors being a good example.

Nature documentaries. Obscure road and rail journeys.

The twins are being taught about WW2 just now. So when I had them here over two weekends we watched WW2 stuff.

Allana watches true crime because her sister is studying criminal psychology.

She put me onto two YaTube sites about real life crime in America.

We also watched Sonic 3. Dog Soldiers. 10 Rillington Place and Dance With a Stranger because she has read about Timothy Evens and Ruth Ellis.

I'm no going to post about Gangs of London which I think was crap.

Peaky Blinders? I'd read the book first and the TV show is a load of bollocks.

I can watch sci fi because it's about what MAY happen.

Comedy? I found the Sacha Baron Cohen films chucklesome.

The funniest book I've ever read the Choirboys was turned into a film and it was shite.

Based on a true story usually means historically inaccurate. And yep I do my research Ryan and find the true story first.

Comedy shows on telly are mainly gash now and have desperately unfunny 'commedians' in them. The last comedy series I really liked was The Inbetweeners.

So loads of different stuff mate. I like finding decent foreign films as well.

But history will always be my go to genre.

Stu (Hattie) has knew me for years. Old Jolly boys.

I do laugh but I'm no as good at comedy and jokes as Billy 🤣

An eclectic mix indeed.

My nephew is 6. I’ve told his mother and faither that the next time the bairn is staying at my house he’s getting to watch Laurel and Hardy

Good shout because those films will always be funny.

Did you watch the film with Steve Coogan in it about the two of them?

Started to watch Taboo again.

Oh and yous true crime lovers. If you go to the iPlayer there is a good documentary started about the Kinahan Organised Crime Group over in Dublin and Dubai.

Just watched MobLand and 1923. Both decent.

And started Love/Hate again. Eeee the joys of being retired 😁

Not sure if it has been mentioned, just finished Bosch on Prime. LA homicide cop. Good stuff, excellent supporting characters, especially his partner (the actor played Marlo in The Wire).

Good show. Is that the latest (and last) one you are talking of?
