Tv series

You should stick with it. A lot of the incidents in Love/Hate are based on crimes that actually happened.

Ireland's gangland shit is heavy duty. The Kinahan/Hutch feud took 18 lives. So far.

If you like crime things then check out the iPlayer documentary series about the Kinahans.
Thanks dude, will do

Tell you a decent series to look out for as well is the Italian crime series Gomorrah.

I'd put it up there with The Sopranos.

There's five series and a film. Watch the first four series then the film The Immortal then the last series.

Based on the Cammora over in Naples and the largest open air drug market in Europe in its day.

We think our schemes are shitholes look at this place.......

Moredun flats look positively posh compared to that scheme Gomorrah is about.

Yup, superb series. Romanza Criminale is also excellent.

Suburra is another.

The film was good as well. Aw us culture vultures and our foreign films.

Billy reckons he never used the subtitles when he watched Suburra.

The things he's learned since moving to Moredun.

Noooo no that he can speak Italian. He's just found out you can actually get subtitles on the telly.

Here you we are all multi lingual in THIS scheme.
I keep having to drag rat bairn back from the abyss when she goes full Gracemount.

Jammies on going to the shops. Tsk.

She said at least they are her jammies and no snowdropped ones like REAL Gracemount schemies have.

Thats normal Edinburgh speak, I bet she and the grandbairns need an interpreter when you visit.
And the bairns will get a decent education at Gracemount.:coffee1:

Here you we had to teach you when you moved down here that it was LAGER with fish and EXPORT with pies.

You savage 😤

Why’s she called ratbairn, did she grass on someone 🤔

Least it's sunny.

Just started watching the first 2 episodes of Years and years . Really good starts off kinda light hearted and doesn’t really look like it's going anywhere but fuck me it a wake up call. Few really good actors in it. Follows a family and world wide events (some of which are true, some fictional) from 2019-2034.
No gangsters or guns involved but something different. Be warned though don't watch it if you are suffering from depression and think the world is totally fucked .

I finished the new series of Black Mirror last night. A decent crop of episodes, Eulogy being the highlight for me.

If I had any criticism, I would say the show is now at a point where the concepts are becoming a bit more obvious and the twists are becoming a little more predictable, so the episodes that are more reliant on these Black Mirror-isms struggle to have the impact they might have earlier in the shows run. All of them are still worth a watch though.
Watched the first one "Common People" last night, was pretty good. They've certainly kicked the arse out of the "dystopian tech implant" storyline over the years though!

Just watched it, I agree. Tell you what though, the intro to these Black Mirror episodes is spot on. Short and slightly sinister, perfect.

Away to watch The Diamond Heist about the Millenium Dome robbery.

Barristers fighting for justice Channel 4 . Just watched it. Unbelievable, the amount of legal aid paid to get people who have committed some serious crimes and they get off on a technicality. Basically very dangerous people being released because a PC made a small error .
The country is truly fucked. I’m dumbstruck. And one defence for a guy running about with a 12 inch knife, whose gang killed another guy, was it all only happened because he was not white , because , apparently, if he was white, the police wouldn’t have paid too much attention to it . ( now they didn’t exactly say that, but by fuck they left you in no doubt that was their defence)
It’s incredible, you need watch it .
And some would describe me as a bit of a lefty .Im blown away by it .

Binned it 4 1/2 episodes into series 7 and wish I hadn't bothered. Not a patch on the early stuff. Surely there won't be any more after this.

Race across the world has started again on bbc1 👏👍
Finally something good on tv . What a country china is . Wee, tip if your going there, learn the language first 😩

Aye, I had been looking forward to the series - especially as it’s not the “celebrity” version. Enjoyed the first episode - good mix of contestants.

Watched first 4 episodes of The Studio. Don't think I'll continue. Mildly amusing but this stuff was done far better by Robert Altman in The Player. In fact the studio head in the series, played by Bryan Cranston, is called Griffin Mill, a call back to Tim Robbins' character in The Player who literally gets away with murder and becomes head of the studio.
It's all a bit too smug and self-referential. A lot mutual back slapping going on. Isn't Hollywod terrible? And yet these folk are all part of it. The whole celebrities playing exaggerated versions of themselves has become very old hat.

The Diamond Heist three parter about the Millenium Dome is worth a wee watch.
