Todays other fitba.

Still 3 games to go mate. They were bottom 6 last season and we were 3rd it's the joys of football. We'll have shite seasons and so will they. Anyone who believes this is going to catapult them to the next level if it does happen is deluded. Celtic and Rangers will get their acts together and normal service will resume.
Rough calculations get them £30million for winning league and champs league money. They probably won't win the league again, but that kind of money elevates them significantly away from us.

They have to play a qualifier for the champions league if they win the league, no automatic qualification for Scottish clubs into that competition from next season.

They are already significantly away from us. Their fans have pumped millions into the coffers, Tony Bloom has stuck 10 million in and James Anderson continues to stick millions in for reasons only he knows..Everything Bloom touches turns to gold and the Jamestown thingy will make them a few more million in transfers

Are they still pretending to be a fan run club with these two sugar daddies propping them up mate? I wouldn't be surprised if we announce a major investor in the summer.

There's no 30 million for them?
Where you getting that?

£3.3 for winning the league
£3.5 for losing the champs league playoff
£3.6 for being in the Europa league proper
£390k per win in the Europa league
£130k per draw
Nothing for losing

There will be around 100k for their final position (assuming they lose all their games)

And a small payment split of any unused prize money.

TV money
Attendance money will add to this

But if they're losing, they're spending a fortune travelling to these games.

I think @southfieldhibby means the group phase, which the Gunts would only need to navigate 1 tie to reach. You get a guaranteed £16.2M just for reaching that.

There's no chance they navigate a 2 round tie against a champions league team.

Tbf there probably are a couple teams they could compete with, but our seed and their seed will be so poor they get a tough tie.
Celtic no play Eindhoven a few years back?

No idea who the team that out them out this year's competition tbf. Dunno if they could compete with someone like that. Doubtful.

I can't see Celtic winning against Rangers. I think they will crap it, a poor team. The Jambos seem to be handling the pressure well but you never know.

The team that wore red and white Hibs strips back in the 60’s are in the Champions League final.
Up the Arsenal! 😊

I think we need to prepare mentally for 'them' becoming Champions. Anything could happen as you say, but....Look forward to the World Cup I guess, but that's another story!

How much damage would third do to Hunco financially?

Are they still operating well outside their means?

If Celtic win the cup and Hunco finish third, they get a Europa league qualifier spot.
If Celtic don't win the cup, then they get a conference qualifier spot.

No Europe at all should be catastrophic for them? 😁

There's a poster on Hibs net, well respected with good connections as he has a history of getting things spot on. Anyway, he posted the other day that the Hibs had the option of either the Black Knight Group, or Tony Bloom. Ben Kensell being the one who pushed for the Black Knight Group.

I don’t think we picked the wrong option as such (a quick glance at English league table shows how well Bournemouth are doing), the bigger issue is the Gordon family wanted their cake and to eat it too - the investment money without ceding any control or influence over the football operation.

Bloom’s investment at Hearts bought him full control of the football operation, the Gordon’s were never offering that. No one is going to make a 7 or 8 figure investment in a football club like Hibs unless they get to control the fun part, the football part.

I doubt we’ll find another investor, not a partial one anyway, unless the Gordon’s are willing to change… which I doubt they are. The more likely outcome is they sell up IMO.

Probably the best option would be for them to sell up if there's a buyer with capital that wants to spend money. I got the feeling the Black Knight crew didn't want Gray managing Hibs and had someone else in mind.

I think both investments were very different. Foley wanted us to join a daft pyramid of clubs where we all passed players about and got them all good enough to play for Bournemouth. Bloom just gives hearts access to his analytics. Apart from Braga most of the Jamestown signings have been below par. The majority of their best players this season has been Gordon, Shankland, Devlin, Baningime, Halkett, Findlay & Milne which funnily enough had nothing to do with Jamestown analytics. Majority of them are Scottish boys as well. Just shows what you can do when you get a competent manager in the dugout.
