Rumour.

Announcement imminent apparently on a signing.

Rumours it'll be a right back from West Brom. Surely not....

The 21-year-old, who completed 90 minutes for Albion at Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup second round, will spend the year at Easter Road working under David Gray, who was also a right-back during his playing days.

No new striker in presumably because we have four already.
Cover for most of the defence, but IMO Rocky Bushiri's long term injury will continue to hamper us.
Midfield we have quite a few options.

Down side for me is we lack pace and regular goalscorers.
We also lack experience up front.
Nathan Lowe might prove me and others wrong ( I hope he does) but from what I have seen so far he is a young lad being asked to do man's job.
The sooner we get Elding back the better, although he too is a youngster.

No doubt in my mind the player budget has been reduced this summer.
Maybe if we had made the Conference League group stages we might have seen more in.
At the moment we seem to have a hell of a lot of midfielders, but not enough pace or creativity there.
The bonus is we still have Chaiwa and Mulligan despite many people thinking one or both would be away.

We should be challenging for third this season given Hearts pre-occupation with Europe, but it's really hard to tell
how the season will pan out.

Steve Evans plays a direct, high-intensity, and physical style of football often described as "up and at 'em" or "in your face." [1]

Core Tactical Traits
    • High-Intensity and Direct: His teams focus on high work rates, pressing, and moving the ball forward quickly rather than overplaying in defense or midfield. [1]
    • Physicality and Power: He frequently utilizes large, combative players ("man mountains") who can impose themselves physically on opponents. [1]
    • Dark Arts and Gamesmanship: His sides are well-known for being expert competitors who use professional game management, disruption, and spoiling tactics to frustrate opponents and grind out results. [1]
    • Pragmatism: Organization and competitiveness take priority over expansive, possession-heavy tactics, making his teams notoriously difficult to play against in the lower leagues.
From AI. Basically Hearts for the past 40 years

"I mean, I was talking to one of my ex players, Kári Árnason, and he's a sporting director over in Iceland. And he said, we didn't know until a Thursday whether we were going to be a three or a four, but they soon knew.

"And the opposition didn't know, and that's a big advantage to us, because with the personnel, we can be 3-5-2, we can be 3-4-1-2, we can be 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-1-2.

Apparently his success at Bristol is down to tactical flexibility. Pretty dodgy character but seems to be getting a tune out of a league 2 side.

Heard he’s a particularly unpleasant individual and definitely not what we need. Looks as though he’s lost about half his body weight. Used be massive

Steve Evans… Bet he’s mates with Malky. Really casting the net far and wide again (if any truth in it).

Danny Ings I would be excited about. Experienced pro in the Dwight Gayle / Grant Holt mould.
