Rumour.

They have 23,500 season ticket holders. Their cheapest adult s/t is £404.
average wage? Around 20-30k per week?
SKY cash filtering down the leagues [apart from in Scotland of course].

Warren was probably on 4k a week at hibs and will get at least 4 times that now. Porteous quadrupled his wages going to watford. Even 3 years at those wages is near £3m when including bonuses. Cant fault anybody for leaving for that sort of dough when you should be set up for life even if you hardly play. We are low in the food chain im afraid and if we do uncover a very good player its not long before hes away. Cest la vie.

Watford were in the Championship, Leicester are in League 1. I very much doubt O'Hora will be getting 16k a week.

I'd reckon he'll be around 12K per week. At us around 4K per week...

This would be roughly my guess too.
He was signed as a first team defender so 4k would fit.
And there's no reason for them to bump him up by so much, 10/12k is a massive leap from anything he'd be getting here. Enough that you wouldn't argue and look for more.

Regarding today I think we will be trying to move Klidge on before announcing a replacement.
Don't think it will be target man type as I get the impression they have full confidence that Lowe will come good.
Just have to trust their judgement on that.
Apart from that we just have to hope we can hold on to our better players in the next six hours or so.

The fact it's appearing difficult to move him on speaks volumes about how good he is.

I think it’ll be difficult to move any players on now, as most windows have closed. Exceptions are to other Scottish clubs, but I don’t see Klidje fitting into that mould.

Agreed. His unsuccessful loan spell at Randers hasn’t helped, I fear we’re going to be stuck taking a significant financial hit in terms of both fee and wages. Malky really should be taken to task on that one.

Fair enough. I'd forgotten that almost all the windows are closed now.
Does seem to be quite some talk from various sources, Hibs observer being one, that we are after another forward.
We have four already, Elding, Boyle, Klidge and Suto so can't see another one coming in without one going out.

I know it's not entirely relevant to the current situation but when Craig Levein went to Leicester in 2004 - they had 3 players who were paid £120K a week between them. One from memory was Keith Gillespie, can't mind who the other two were. IIRC Leicester had been relegated from the premier and his job was to slash the wage bill and bring in affordable players.

Edit - I removed the duff AI info, once I checked it out, but it looks like the current Leicester top earner is Harry Souttar on £40K a week. Not sure he's twice as good as Warren.

The seem to have managed to offload the top 7 earners from last season who earned between £50K to £90K a week

Reckon we will have to take a pretty big hit to move Klidje on.
We need another striker in, and don't necessarily need to lose Suto, although I'd keep Elding and Boyle rather than him.
Rumours of an offer made to Maolida but I have my doubts.
He'd be some signing!

Isn't it only us and Portugal that are still open?
I can't see us moving anyone on now. Unless it's a loan or sale to a Scottish club.

He'd be sensational.

I think we are only really a proper goalscorer away from being pretty decent....

Danny Ings is another big-name striker rumoured to be chatting to us.

I think that's just leftovers from folk mentioning him as a free agent 3 or 4 weeks ago.
Every day someone new on FB says they've heard we're speaking to him..

Him and Youan were quite pally?
Wouldn't imagine there's many goods words been passed on 😬

Would be worrying if we aren't, we need a goal scorer

Just seems to drift around clubs though...I liked his goals but often thought he was a bit lazy on the pitch.

10 goals plus assists as a January signing was a good go though.

I dunno if we should look backwards towards him tbh. I think we need someone that can do a different type of job from the players here already. I'd still be looking for a more natural target man.

I just remember that time with Marcondes as well and they both just struck me as guys who didn't really want to be here. Mercenary is too strong a description but definitely got a vibe that they thought we were well below their perceived status and just a very temporary stepping stone. Maybe unfair but just my feeling of that time.

Marcondes has at least ditched the ridiculous manbun so maybe he's improved his status.

After somebody, not Ings but he's out of contract and will be able tae come after the windae slams shut, if we are after him.
That according tae Jamie Borthwick and he's a gunt so might be shite.

Wonder if we have asked ings to come up and watch the game the night? A win could swing him coming to us. I’m a Liverpool fan and he was decent till get got his bad injury. 100% the type of player we need
