Rumour.

I hope you're right. Personally I can't see us going into the season with that number of midfielders.
I think Alasana will be away although actually I thought he wasn't terrible v Rovers (but then I had the wrong specs with me)

Was Josh Campbell not told that he can find another team if wishes - to go somewhere where he can play more (as was Chrissy Cadden). Josh is Hibs through and through though so I can image that's a bit of a sore one but ultimately if he wants to play he needs to be at a team where he can do that.

I think we will be losing players as well.
Manneh clearly has no future at Hibs and I doubt Josh Campbell will want to spend another season in and out the team.
I think there is definite interest in Chaiwa, but whoever wants him will have to meet our valuation.
Both Chaiwa and Mulligan missed a good bit of last season as well.
We only had Mulligan playing for half a season, and Chaiwa took a long time to establish himself as a first team starter.

Read that too, but was later rubbished by an (alleged) close pal of Josh.

Who knows....:102:

Hopefully it’s players further down the pecking order that go than our top ones. Manneh, Newell, Campbell…
Re Manneh, to be honest i've hardly seen him play, so I couldn't say whether I thought he was a decent player or not. David Gray has hardly played him which makes me think he has either completely failed to settle in Edinburgh or at the club, or he just didn't turn out to be as good as hoped.

Newell; Coming up to eight years now at Hibs for Joe, and he is still club captain. Going by the way he has been talked about in the last week or so, I think Gray still sees him as an important player and has the experience and leadership qualities we really are going to need this season coming. Personally, i've never quite seen what a lot of other Hibs fans see in him. He is a decent player on his day, but nothing special. Last couple of seasons have basically been a write-off for him with double hernia operations and at his age now and with a year left on his contract he might feel he yet has something to prove.

Campbell: I like Josh. Gets ridiculous OTT criticism from just about everyone after the team has a poor performance as a whole. He seems to be scapegoated a lot. Yet for me he is easily the best player we have in the air, and can get goals. He is slow and lacks technique, but we have other players who can compensate for that. I just don't think he will want to hang around at Hibs just to be a squad player. If his agent can find him another club where he can get regular starts he might think it's time for a fresh start.

Just have to wait and see with the above, but we do have a lot of midfielders at the club now. We will need a decent sized squad of players especially if we get to European group stages, but also the manager will need better options from the bench for the season anyway..

Newell was a baller. Massive part of the season before last that keeps getting ignored/forgotten about.

He's pretty much finished now though. I didn't expect to see him back after that injury.

Won't be surprised to see him see out his contract on limited game time. I think even he knows he's not going to be playing alot, already has the press piece talking about how the teams more important etc. happy to sit on the bench if we're playing well.

Really shouldn't be captain at this point now.

There have been no offers for either Mulligan or Chaiwa, at least none that we have been made aware of.
Hibs will have a valuation for both and unless that valuation is met and the players indicate that they want to move, they will both remain Hibs players contracted to the club.
Personally, I think both will be at Hibs next season.
The smelly tramps will do their usual, Feed it to the press, try unsettle him, offer 10 bob and a golf ball and wait till the last day of the window then up the offer to 10 bob and a jack nicklaus golden bear golf ball.

Newell has been a good servant and a good player and a good representative for the club. Don't think there'll be another contract on the table but no need to hound him out - a proper preseason and match fitness could see him being a lot more useful than his (pretty awful tbf) cameos this past year.

Mulligan and Chaiwa are barely through the door, there'll be a price and if it's met they'll leave and if it isn't they won't. Think it's entirely possible they're both looking towards the January window - clubs are more likely to pay over the odds anyway, and they'd both benefit from more games in the tank if they want those blockbuster offers

See, that's no really a big deal to me.
I don't know the answers, but for what purpose?
What purpose does the club captain have?
Speaking to the referee. If he's no playing, whoever is on the park with the armband gets that job.
We don't know how much is expected of the captain off the park, could upset the balance by stripping it from him.

Organising the team on the pitch, the more leadership players the better. O'Hora and Kerr are a good pair at the back for that imo, got the whole game in front of them.

I just don't think who has the armbands is all that big a deal. And we don't know what that full job means, so I really dunno if it matters enough to make a change?

I'd a box of 6 of those in the mid 70s, when I first played golf 😆. Noticeably bigger than the UK size Slazenger or Dunlop balls. They had a golden bear on them... well, it was yellow, but artistic licence 'n' aw. I've no recollection of who gave them me. Dad was in Saughton at the time, so wisnae him🙄.

Sounds like they're going to pull out all the stops then?

Playing football or tending the rose garden?

I’m guessing the roses.
Just on genetics.
He liked roses. Had lots in his garden. I don't think he ever tended them in his spells in Windsor Hotel Group establishments.
He was a better boxer and cross-country runner than a footballer as a lad. Played golf and ran until he couldn't remember whether he should be jogging up a sand dune or looking for a ball in one.
I was never in Saughton🙂... Briefly in Barlinnie & Wandsworth😂.

Money talks. They'll both be off. Should rake in £10m+
