Might not be good enough to get a move to a big club but if he moves at all it would be still be for decent money and we'd get a wedge. 2.5 years left on his contract so if he ever does move it'll likely be next seasonReports that more clubs have entered the race to sign £9million rated Josh Doig.
Sadly doesn't look like SJM will ever get a bigger move as we'd have been due money for that as well.

I’d settle for a spud gun celebration.I was really looking forward to seeing the McKirdy “machine gun” celebration - preferably against the Gunts. Still to see it![]()
I'd settle for just seeing a celebration.I’d settle for a spud gun celebration.
I still think John McGinn will get a big move from Villa.Reports that more clubs have entered the race to sign £9million rated Josh Doig.

Arfield would be a great signing btw. Unsure why he would want to swap a couple of more medals to add to his career to play for us on loan mind you?
Spud Murphy now there was a playerI'd settle for a spud.
Length of contract?Arfield would be a great signing btw. Unsure why he would want to swap a couple of more medals to add to his career to play for us on loan mind you?
That would be the summer.Length of contract?
Could go either way. More chance of anything at us the next 6 months. Unless he totally hates it at the huns you would have to question his sanity to make the move just now.Runners up medals?
He is a very good player and exactly he type we need just now. He has the ability and big match experience at a high level to benefit us. He is also not getting his game now much for Rangers, so considering the money he will be on with them can you see him upping sticks and moving to Easter Road ? Hope it happens but I have my doubts.Arfield would be a great signing btw. Unsure why he would want to swap a couple of more medals to add to his career to play for us on loan mind you?
I meant the length of contract we offered. That would be the summer.
We could only offer a contract come the summer. A loan before then wouldn't have much to do with that.I meant the length of contract we offered.
Fair enough. I wondered whether a post loan contract offer might sweeten the deal for himWe could only offer a contract come the summer. A loan before then wouldn't have much to do with that.
I kind of see what you are saying ie we will offer the player a long deal in the summer if he comes on loan now. Problem being I can't see him being short of offers to try push that through with the huns.Fair enough. I wondered whether a post loan contract offer might sweeten the deal for him
Just can’t see it. But that’s the kind of thing that needs to happen to get us moving in an upward trajectoryMcGeady and Arfield would definitely improve results in the same midfield.
That's what we did with Jamie Murphy - loan & signing/contract as part of the same deal.I kind of see what you are saying ie we will offer the player a long deal in the summer if he comes on loan now. Problem being I can't see him being short of offers to try push that through with the huns.
Due 28 percent of Doig fee
Rod wouldn't open the purse strings according to Yogi, Huddersfield Town then got him for something like £400kYogi was desperate to sign Scott Arfield when he was Hibs manager...but for whatever reason it didn't happen.
"Arfield to debut for Dons v Hibs after last minute signing"Can't see us getting Arfield in all honesty
Same. With his wage expectation and age I can't see him being a long-term solution. He's not Franck Sauzee.I like the idea of Arfield but only to see us out this season and obviously ditches the salute. If he's looking for 2-3 year deal he can bolt.

In talks with Findlay seemingly, Oxford only interested in permanent deal though
Not an observation on his ability, went to a Philly Union game last year, he was on the bench and didn't get any minutes. Level of football was poor. Was a wee bit disappointed he didn't get on as I wanted to shout a bit of abuse to a fellow countryman!!I hope Hibs sign him, permanently all the better. Good age and experience, good player, brings a bit of height too. Everything we need.
