I don't think we've much money. All spunked in the summer. Certainly went over budget....Nowt, nothing, nada.
Just over a week before window opens.

Not sure who runs this, but there is a few interesting names on here
It’s a Hibs podcast. That’s just who they’d sign, not actual targets.
Probably the kind of names we’d all pull together on here, but the way Hibs are going about their business we’ll continue to sign randoms who are ill equipped to handle the demands of the Scottish game.
Thanks mate, I didn’t know some of those players they mention on there but that’s not a bad thing. The boy from Ayr would be decent and the boy Fuchs was good player with Dundee United too.
There’s a few interesting players on the list. The kind that, if we’re trying to steady the ship and get a more competitive team on the park, would make sense.

Looked at this the other day. Most of it is pie in the sky stuff.
The guy Fuchs has been struggling for game time in the English third tier so if you listen to all the moaners on social media including here guys like that can't hack it at a big club like Hibs, we need better etc etcThanks mate, I didn’t know some of those players they mention on there but that’s not a bad thing. If we had signed the guy that's at Ayr there would have been loads of moaning and he would have been written off after a few substitute appearance as not good enough for Hibs.
He has had a remarkable season so far for Ayr but Hibs is up two levels up from where he is playing. Not many can bridge it.
This is his career history with all but 15 games in non league

Michael Rose is the most interesting one.Looked at this the other day. Most of it is pie in the sky stuff.
McKirdy has a far more impressive record than the guy at Ayr.Every signing is a risk, just because they have struggled elsewhere it doesn’t necessarily mean it will be the same here. Fuchs didn’t struggle at Dundee United and he knows the Scottish game. The boy at Ayr has proven he is a goal scorer something we are lacking in, yet with Nissy back that may improve. But your forgetting what league Nissy played in before coming to us. Or do we just stick with Youan,Bojang, McKirdy types who haven’t impressed at all.
McKirdy has a far more impressive record than the guy at Ayr.
The point i'm making is some of our supporters behave like entitled kids and if a player doesn't work straight away they want them discarded and another one brought in. That can easily happen at big clubs but not at Hibs.
The guy Fuchs was okay at Dundee Utd but he is struggling to get a game for a mid table team in the English 3rd tier.
He's a decent player and Hibs could bring him in but folk would be moaning about him after a hand full of games if Hibs were still losing.
The truth is the guy is probably no better than what we already have.
Magennis, Porteous and Nisbet are probably £2-3 million players and that is the standard of player we need to progress. The problem we have is Hibs can't afford to buy or pay the wages of a ready made player of that ability level.
The only way we can do it is to bring them through our youth ranks or take advantage of a situation.
In the case of Porteous he came through the ranks, in the case of Nisbet the situation was covid had struck, his team were desperate for cash and other clubs were not buying so Ron nipped in and in the case of Magennis the situation was he was still coming back from a horrendous injury so no other team wanted to risk it. If there is no situation Hibs will in most cases be gazumped by richer suiters.
Porteous is a £2-3 million level player. We will be lucky to get £500k for him but as soon as he moves he will be worth big bucks. Free money for whoever gets him even if he isn't a great success.Sadly only one player is worth the 2-3 million pound that you mention, Nissy would have been worth that previously when Birmingham were interested, but he will need to get back to that player first and foremost. Magennis isn’t worth 2-3 million your kidding yourself with that quote. Porto could have easily went for that but his contract is due to expire soon so we will never know.
Fuchs was more than Ok for Dundee United and would improve our soft as shite midfield. Fuchs at Dundee United would break up play and make things happen for the players around him.
Not seen enough of McKirdy, but what I have seen I wasn’t all that impressed to be honest. Showed a couple of nice touches but I cannot seeing scoring many goals up here in my opinion.
McKirdy had he gone to a team like St Johnstone would have been starting every week and could have made mistakes and no one would have bothered. At Hibs it's different. Against Celtic he started and was easily pushed off the ball. He was subbed at half time and heavily criticised by our support. Other than that he is only getting minutes here and there so it's difficult to have an opinion on him at the moment.

Nisbet, I suspect the Birmingham deal had little money upfront with more strings on it than a Thunderbird puppet which is why Hibs kb'd it. Ron will be relieved that he has come back strong and will be praying he can keep it up until the end of the season. If he can we could get circa £2 million for him in the summer.
Magennis isn't a £2 million quid player at the moment but easily has the potential to be if he can get a run of games. The problem with our midfield has been that none of them can drive with the ball. Magennis drives with the ball and breaks defensive lines and he along with Nisbet is the key to our improvement. It wasn't coincidence that Hibs were top of the league when he was injured at the end of September last season and the team immediately went into freefall after that and the manager was quickly sacked.
Fuchs was a good defensive mid at Dundee United.
He worked hard and battled but he struggled to pass under pressure and didn't play forward passes so he is very limited.
He would do fine at Hibs.

Magennis will never be worth millions because he's always breaking down. That's just mental talk. No one will be paying millions for him ever. I'll be surprised if he even makes 20 games between now at the end of the season. Not blaming him but some players are just injury prone.
Unfortunately this,
Even if he gets a good amount of games this season he'll always be someone clubs will look at and doubt his physical condition.
Plus i think he'll be in his final year? That'll devalue him too, we'd have to offer him a deal this season to pump his value up and imo we'd be mental to do so without getting a solid year and a half's worth of games out of him.. Which point he might leave for free anyway? (If next is his final?)

He signed a 5 year deal in October 2020 so he has a bit to go yet.
Dinnae confuse me.So next season is the second last?
And the following he would be in his last year?
Dinnae confuse me.
Any Hibs player will do well to play that many games from now given we only have 22 to play if we lose the cup gameMagennis will never be worth millions because he's always breaking down. Peterborough wanted £1 million pounds for Fuchs which is twice what we will pay for a player.Sadly only one player is worth the 2-3 million pound that you mention, Nissy would have been worth that previously when Birmingham were interested, but he will need to get back to that player first and foremost. Come the summer Boyle due to injury will only have played more than 20 league games for Hibs once in 5 seasons. I've not heard any hysteria about him being frequently injured even although his latest knee injury will see him out for 10 months on circa £7,500 a week and he will be 30 before the seasons out. He's had 3 big knee ops now and could easily break down again. I get the difference that he has credit in the bank with Hibs fans but as things stand he will miss an almost identical time this season as Magennis missed last season and at 30 he has more chance of breaking down again than 24 years old Magennis.

Difference between the two players is that Martin Boyle delivers when he plays. He scores and creates goals that lead to positive results. Kyle Magennis hasn’t come close to being that influential unfortunately.
That's nonsense - where are you getting these stats from? Boyle has featured regularly and even if he hasn't played a full 90 minutes his contributions have been invaluable to the club(goals/assists). And this is despite serious injury issues. He'll have probably done more in the 12 games he's featured in than Magennis does by the end of the season. We'd have been relegated without Boyle - he is a match winner.Come the summer Boyle due to injury will only have played more than 20 league games for Hibs once in 5 seasons. You can't reall compare Boyle, a cup legend to Magennis who's contributed pretty much hee-haw since he arrived. I'm confident Boyle will be fine after his recovery.
