Imagine that would be worse than sharing a carriage with actual harlequins, and Im not a fan of clowns!Once had the misfortune of having to share a train carriage with Harlequins.Disgusting pricks.I've been happier in a carriage full of Jambos.
Carriage full of Jambos? I would have waited for a later train.Once had the misfortune of having to share a train carriage with Harlequins.Disgusting pricks.I've been happier in a carriage full of Jambos.
Talking of which - My enjoyment of last night's rerun of the 2016 final was spoiled by those two wimmin in the studio. Is rife with Sexism Racism and Mysogony.Who knew?

I played rugby at Ainslie Park, not a waitrose shopper,4WD owner or a waxed jacket in sight.A game for people who knew where the Vennel is.I only found out last year.I don't shop in Waitrose and I don't own a four wheel drive or a waxxed jacket.
Are the English rugby team not the same regarding players selected? I don't really watch rugby but obviously it happens in international football all the time - someone has a Scottish Granny etc.Great to see Scotland win at Twickenham for the second time ina row, however I find it hard to take the Scotland Rugby team seriously when half of them aren't scottish. The big guy who scored the great try today is South African and only gets to play for Scotland because he lived in Edinburgh for three years.

Correct. The FIFA rules on eligibility for national football teams are exactly the same, including qualifying by continuous residence for at least 2 years. Are the English rugby team not the same regarding players selected? Some inverted snobbery going on here, Moaty. Long before professionalism, rugby was played but just as many working class individuals as Waitrose shoppers. Not many Welsh internationals of yesteryear had waxed jackets or Range Rovers. Many of them were miners and would have given you a good battering for suggesting they might be hooray Henry's. When I were a lad at school in the Borders, it was a hanging offence to be seen in school with a football. Rugby was compulsory. Nothing to do with social class.A game for people who knew where the Vennel is.I only found out last year.I don't shop in Waitrose and I don't own a four wheel drive or a waxxed jacket.
Most nations are the same. Some need to rely on this kind of thing more than others. We have only a fraction of the player base to chose from than most tier 1 nations.Great to see Scotland win at Twickenham for the second time ina row, however I find it hard to take the Scotland Rugby team seriously when half of them aren't scottish. Bet none existed at that time?I played rugby at Ainslie Park, not a waitrose shopper,4WD owner or a waxed jacket in sight.

Football could learn so much from rugby as you say.The performance , and spectacle today was fantastic . Sport at its best.
The lack of "non scots " in our squad is quite sad , but thems the rules and everybody else is using them , so we would be daft not to .
Rugby , gets so much right that football should really learn from . If the ball is out of play for any length of the time , the clock stops. The referee is undoubtedly in charge , play acting dosent exist .
The commentators today , could not hide their disappointment, it was sweet .
Sad but true, cheeky young pupBet none existed at that time?![]()

Not changed that much down here. Rugby is still king. Every high school has a rugby team but not many have football teams which is a shame.I were a lad at school in the Borders, it was a hanging offence to be seen in school with a football. Rugby was compulsory. Nothing to do with social class.
I enjoy watching rugby as much as football, so Scotland's performance today was excellent, especially as it was achieved playing the game as it should be played - open, direct and skillful attacking play and resolute defence - Hibs style, in fact.![]()
Like you, i've been to Murrayfield several times as well and yet to see a Rugby match.I’ve been to Murrayfield for rugby internationals a few times.
Never seen a match yet.
The brass band that plays the visiting team’s national anthem is Whitburn, where I was general secretary for a while, so I had to attend the pre match briefings and organise where we had to be at the right times. Once the band left the pitch, we were done and had to leave. They didn’t let any of the entertainment support watch the match unless they had a ticket.
Been to the Magic Weekend and the Wigan v St Helens challenge cup final . Superleague starts next weekend , looking forward to thatBeen to Murrayfield twice.....for the Rugby league magic weekend.
Only Union I've seen was a Scotland 'A' play South Africa at Mannofield in Aberdeen.
Must be about 20-25 years ago.
