New Signing Nathan Lowe

New Dude
Looks like your stereotype big man tbf.

My only concern with young, target forwards is being a big guy in youth football, and being a big guy on pro football is a massive jump.

Using your body against teens smaller than you is alot easier than someone smaller than you who's experienced and tested.

If I got to be fussy, I'd prefer an experienced big man, a Holt type.

Nearly 100 games and 30 goals at league 1 and League 2 before your 21st birthday is a more interesting punt than some of the recent loans

From his Wikipedia. Looks like he had a great season at Walsall but maybe never made the grade at championship level after.

Transfer markt has him as a 193cm centre forward. Is this the no.9 we’ve been waiting for? 20 year old and a good career so far for his age.

Hibs observer clarifies it’s a season long loan rather than a signing (contract at Stoke til 2028)

No disrespect but i hope we sign another striker for a bit of competition and because of the potential for injuries - as with happened with Kieron.

Looks to be the right profile of striker in terms of physical attributes, good stuff.

Interesting we’ve gone for a loan deal this early in the window, maybe the right option wasn’t available on a permanent… either way it’s good to get him on before the European campaign kicks off.

Looks like he’s played a lot of senior football despite his age, a positive sign. Do agree though, I liked the experience the likes of Holt and Gayle added.

We have Edling, Suto, Klidje, Boyle and now Lowe… that’s plenty forwards. Get what you’re saying, but looks like we’ve got for different types of options.

Just heard his welcome to Hibs interview, seems a clued in and switched on laddie, hope he matches up if give the chance.

Would you believe I pulled up the spreadsheet profile but didn't look at his history 😅
That's good though. SPL seems to be a natural next step for him.

It reads to me that Stoke are managing his progress and looking for him to up levels every season and id guess hopefully be a championship player for them next season or better.

This is a big season for him, the lure of European football must be massive too

"Europe after a couple of games."
...sounds like weve sold him the benefit of Conf League group stages as the target.

Miss the days of at least pretending to build a team for a couple of years.

If he’s good then we aren’t getting him permanently and not us that makes any money from him.

Maybe he'll score lots of goals for us?
Help to win games?
Winning goal in the Cup Final?

Cheer the fcuk up man.
It's Billy's birthday and he might be taking the day off!

Unless we have an as yet undisclosed right-to-buy clause inserted.

Whatever happened to the photo with the chairman, manager and the new guy sitting signing the contract?
Ah! Nostalgia ain't what it used to be!

I'm sure Grant Hanley and the others will take good care of him in training, showing him what's to be expected 😆

Tbf this team has been together a few years?
There's always gonna be ins and outs.

I think he looks like just what we needed. I don't love the loan, but it's looks strategic rather than the January scramble.

Never seen THEE pen either. Hope it's no ran ooti ink.

He’ll find it a breeze playing Gray’s style of lone striker having the ball shelled up to his general vicinity where he’ll be expected to control it first time at chest height and hold off 3 goliaths who’ll boot fuck out of him. Fans will be on his back before the game even starts and decide after twenty minutes that he’s shite. Subbed bang on 60 minutes as we go defensive (only to throw away all the good work and lose of draw) gradually making appearances from the bench before returning to his parent club wondering why he came to Hibs in the first place.

A familiar scenario. Am I doing this right?

Nah, we don't play a lone striker 😁
