Listening to this now, good interview 👍

I'm not normally one for managers/players interviews....I always believe actions speak louder than words.
However I did tune in and listened to the Maloney interview on Longbangers.
He is a very articulate guy who wants his Hibs team to eventually play an exciting possession based game with goals, but appreciates that will take time and money to develop.... and it was encouraging that he thinks summer will see many new good players arrive...we certainly need them.

I do get the impression sometimes though that he is a wee bit over sensitive to things and doesn't take criticism too well.
This "it was good the hear the fans chanting my name" thing ? why should a manager bother about that ? It's players names that should be chanted anyway.
He implied I thought as well that the home fans were less appreciative of what he is trying to do than our away support. Must be getting a bit of abuse from the lower west fans. That comes with the territory i'm afraid Shaun.
Then he is getting a bit hot and bothered about some parts of the media "wanting Hibs to do badly". Where is the surprise in that ? Many Hibs managers before him have had the same, but they didn't feel the need to tell everyone about it. Just get on with the job man. You are managing a big club and therefore will get criticism from all over. I think he is going to have to learn to develop a thicker skin.

I'd go along the lines of some fans need to get a grip. Wanting instant success and not getting it so they take the humpty and shout abuse at Maloney. He's came in with the worst injury scenario I've ever seen and trying to get his way put over also. Fans need patience.

I agree with that.
Seems to me though that the fans who are giving him stick already are more concerned about this style of play thing. They are not happy that the new manager is trying to get the team to adapt to a new possession based style, and at the moment we don't have (a) good enough or (b) enough players available anyway to carry out this. It is going to take time. The guy is just in the door. In my view, next season when he has considerably more of his own players in who are comfortable with the way he wants to play, and just as important the team are fitter after a proper pre-season training schedule, then we will see a much better and more entertaining Hibs team next season.

My point was really that Maloney really should just ignore detractors whether they are within shouting distance or outwith the club. No matter what a Hibs manager does it will always be not enough for some. I just don't see the point in even mentioning it. In my time as a Hibs fan, managers have always had detractors and people that think unless we are playing wonderful football every week, scoring goals, and beating Hearts in every derby, then they are not good enough and should not be managing Hibs. Totally ridiculous I know, but we have our fair share of such people "supporting" our club.

Appreciate that Recast isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re on to use it, here’s some reaction to the shambles earlier.
Some great points made by very passionate Hibees. Wish the team had half this passion today.

A bit late posting this, but here’s our view of that shambles on Saturday. We also recorded a special episode looking at how we got into this state (the club, not the hosts, I am in this state because of pies and the misery of marriage…) , details of the special episode are in this one:

Had a listen to this today, excellent stuff.
Grant Stott is one lucky fecker.
He is, incredible experiences to have, eh?

We did a live show at Easter Rd last year, and Pat Stanton came along and we were lucky enough to get fifteen minutes or so to interview him, before we started my dad (who was there to play his music before the show) got to spend ten minutes chatting to Pat and he was buzzing afterwards (my old man, not Pat).
I can imagine what it must be like for Grant to have given his dad experiences like that.
