Centre of edinburgh during the fringe. Just a nightmare trying to get on a bus and full of noisy buskers singing the same bloody songs. Maybe just me being a grumpy old fart but cant be arsed with it.

There seems to be no let up now. Used to get a few quiet weeks after the Festival ended and before the Uni started; also a couple of months after all the Christmas/New Year bollocks. Now it just feels constant.

Unbelievable, tv channels still sending crews to schools to film kids A level results (picked by the head to ensure no thickos open their envelopes on tv to abject failure)

Ive noticed that too. Used to breath a sigh of relief in october and then a wee bump around new year. Now barely a break from the chaos from late june till early january. I have to go through princess street to get to my work and with part of princess street shut its been incredibly annoying. I saw the same chaos in madrid last spring. I bet madrid must be a nightmare in the summer months. Tourists seem to have no boundaries. Not having a go at them as im sure there are many many scots who behave like dickheads on their hols. So many places getting to the point over tourism. Dont know the answer but hopefully someone can come up with a solution.

I seldom go past the Southside anymore. On the odd occasion I may get as far as South Bridge.
Just cannot be arsed with the toon anymore it's over priced and over crowded.

I think with the football a lot of folk have just come from the pub and have drunk up an appetite. I was the same until the queues got too big for a halftime pie but I also stopped going for a drink until after the match and wish I had done that a lot sooner. Most of kids are liable to whinge a bit until a burger shuts them up. I reckon with most folk it has just become a habit, but IMO what gets served up now doesn't justify the cost anyway.
The cinema food prices are so daft I'm surprised that they still sell anything at all.

Local and national TV news and politics reporters who can't deliver any text at all without huge expansive arm and hand gestures which completely get my dander up and distract me from what they are waffling about anyway....
That@s UK TV but Dutch are getting as bad; Germans not so much and oc the Italians and French but then that's part of how they speak anyway.
The Germanics (incl the Brits oc) don't really have it in their culture so I confidently guess this is taught to them in media school on the wafer-thin assumption thus will somehow invest their drab words with importance and vigour.

Part of the joy of visiting italy is marvelling at the way their whole body moves when they speak about something they are passionate about. My favourite country to visit follwed by portugal, austria and canada. Hoping to go to croatia next year and ive heard its amazing.
