Little things that annoy you.

Well us auld yins who live on only the state pension are no contributing to the NHS anymore are we?

So should we go private which we cannot pay for or just croak?

And should folk who can afford private health care no use the NHS?

I used to be like you and would find it so difficult to let annoying things go but in the last 18 months have managed to chill much better and only worry about the things that matter. Never thought it would be like this but it's so much better not being wound up by trump or the culture wars nonsense like I used to be.
I was like that and, although it's still a work in progress, I do notice the improvement. If I could just carry that "chill" across into my driving the world would be much nicer place.

Interesting point. We certainly are becoming a country of have and have nots. I had bupa cover with a previous job for 9 years and never needed to use it. The NHS has been run down by stealth for the last two decades and will inevitably become part privatised when it eventually creaks under the weight of folk living longer and longer, not that it's their fault just the reality of the situation.

I'm only narky in the car if I'm tired. Most of the time too busy watching out for folk strolling across the roads without looking.

Try reassigning your anger when driving to 'extreme frustration' it worked for me over here where driving standards are amongst the worst in the world. Very few drivers are being deliberately dangerous but many are just shit at driving. Expect it and allow yourself the odd, loud FOR FUCK SAKE but no more. Anger to extreme frustration, then to frustration, then acceptance of arseholes with no more than a shake of the head. Driving will become a pleasure again.

And listen to some good death metal tunes as well.

I learned when driving all day every day that it's better to just let the maniacs get on with it and point to my camera if they needed told.

could just vote reform

Aye folk could do that if they do wish. But hey that's the system we live under.

You cast a vote. And live with the consequences of that vote.

Dental charges. The NHS was supposed to give care free to everyone that needed it.So why does the dentist, in my case The New Kirkgate Dental Practice charge me and everyone else who is not on benefits for the work done.I just had a tooth extracted the other day (excruciating by the way) and it cost me £22. There is a queue of people just about going out the door and most are paying similar or even more for work done.So how does that work then, doesn't seem very NHS ethos to me.

Could be wrong because I've been away for years but have you perhaps registered with a private dentist? I remember purely NHS dentists had massive waiting lists so loads went to private dentists

There's a dentist up by the Odeon Picture House that advertises as NHS patients welcome.

I think dentists charge a "nominal" fee for NHS patients work. I get free check ups and the charge for any work done is topped up by the NHS. They usually display comparison menus so you can see what private treatment would cost (think arm and leg). So it's only check ups for free and a reduced charge for any treatment.
Most dental surgeries have around 70% private dentists and only 30% take on NHS work and they would be younger, newly qualified dentists lookimg to get themselves on the ladder (like locum GPs).

Pretty much every modern Sherlock Holmes movie giving him deductive powers bordering on the supernatural. Just tried again with 'The hound of the Baskervilles' 2000 version and shut it down less than ten minutes in.

I'll send you the clip when I get home about how Sherlock was so good.

All to do with a Surgeon from Edinburgh.

The clip is on at the Surgeons Hall Museum.

A decent visit if you are interested in medicine.

Apart from the dental bit. Sadistic bastards even back then. Some of the spikes they used will still be in operation by state torturers.

AC-D was also inspired by Lt. Det. John Thomson Trench of Glasgow City Police. They were personal friends and Trench’s detective abilities were incorporated into the Holmes character.

The latest Ibrox owning Fuds, investing in £20 M for a sectarian song book, let’s hope when they hear it the investment is withdrawn……………………what a moment that would be

The Orc supporters will be paying tribute to their new American owners by waving giant foam hands next season (red of course).

Looking back I think I did follow all of your recommendations only I did them in reverse order :grrr:

No I asked if childless folk should receive a pension that others bairns have to work for to give to them.
If childless people pay NI contributio's, then yes. How on earth can you deny them? Hitler would, but the world has progressed since those days.

Aye, pensiomer's don't like progress. Unless they're getting free bus travel. They're all for it then. :sm023:
