I hope your talking about ‘ zero ‘ billy or I’d have no qualms about reporting you to the bizzies . If it kept someone out of hospital or even worse, the morgue, I’d have done my job 🤷‍♂️IMO 👍

I used to have a mate who'd swallow 6 pints after the golf then say he'll need to rush home in the car before it "kicked in" He was eventually caught after swerving to avoid a cat of all things and hitting a parked car.
Could have been so much worse.

How am i a failure? Criticising Government Policy is not lashing out at everyone. You have an issue with retaining information. I've already told you, i have no degree and told you, stop copying my last words.

It wasn’t just Government policy you were criticising - it was people who had the foresight to plan ahead for their retirement.

Pensioners with multiple sources of income shouldn't get fuel allowance?
Should those who don't have these not get it for being unable or unwilling to make provision for their own retirement?

The foresight to plan ahead never really entered my thoughts. When you are young your money is for spending and enjoying life.

Then when you get aulder and have a family money is for trying to give them a good life where the bairns get what you never when you were young.

Then when you get auld the state pension was supposed to let you get by.

But the retired have no say over monetary things. The rise in the pension we got in April was swallowed up by council tax.

Folk who DID pay a private pension are now being taxed on it to fill the states coffers.

I do know a couple of lads who are still working and money is their god.

I've got fuck all. Own nothing. But what I have spare goes to my lassie.

When the rent cap got lifted her rent went from £940 a month to £1,400 a month.

But hey if her and the family don't eat then she could get a private pension eh?
 
Yep Bill. I help my lassie oot. Look after my grandbairns.

I want THEM to be happy. My grandson is on the tools and going into third year.

He's currently in Tenerife. He turned 20 this year.

Does anyone honestly think that he cares about private pensions and retiring.

Na he's doing what we done. Enjoying himself.

Mines and yours ma and dad's struggled to make our lives easier.

Now it's our turn.

No. They have means of paying for it themselves. I doubt any pensioner planned ahead in the hope they'd get a Wnter Fuel Allowance. Just like full time employees, have the means to pay, but get no alowance.

The Government is buying your vote.
 
When I was working it bothered me not one bit if pensioners eventually got something back for their contributions they made over the years.

Mainly because I eventually tippled that they had struggled to provide when I was wee.

Eegie makes a good point when he says every adult needs two bairns to contribute in taxes so they get their pensions.

If that is the case then the childless should not get a state pension.

Just their private one.

That is crticism of Government Policy. We have been told to plan ahead for years, not to rely on the State when we retire. Yet the Government are still giving well off pensioners benefits. It's a bribe to get their votes.

FWIW I’m more than happy for things like Fuel Allowance and bus passes to be means-tested. To say that pensioners “make more money” than working people is wrong however. They are taking an income from their savings over their working lives - and still paying tax on that income which you conveniently forgot to mention.

What about the people who are in full time employment and don't earn enough to provide the necessities never mind saving?
Not everybody is capable of getting a better paying job.

If it's still there when you're of pensionable age, are you going to refuse winter fuel payments and free bus travel? Are you going to insist on making NI contributions from your state pension?

You come across as an angry little man, criticising elderly people, government , people in receipt of winter fuel allowance, people in receipt of bus passes, tradesman, people who take cash in hand , people who had the foresight & initiative to have planned for the future, retirees who have the audacity to go for a pint using their travel pass…the list is endless; rantings of a failure imo. No issue retaining info, please show me where you told me you had no degree. I will respond which whatever words i choose to use. Fucking knob

But it has been stated on here by a couple of posters that every person who gets a pension require two youngsters to pay for it.

So if someone is childless then someone's else's bairns are paying for their pension.

Bit selfish of the childless wanting to earn out of someone else's bairns toil.
 
Well if you have travelled somewhere and it costs £2.20 then I would think you would also be £2.20 to get hame again.
 
When I worked full time I didn't object when pensioners were exempt from the bbc telly tax.

To be fair though I never payed for it either but you get my point.
