Sorry, I'll try not tae be serious againI prefer when you tell bad jokes mate.
Cos you're spot on here

If he was as miserable as you I definitely would.
The key words there are “which they paid into”. In other words, they possibly gave up certain luxuries in order to afford themselves a reasonably comfortable retirement. They also pay tax on pension income just like working people do on their wages.
What, asking well off pensioner's to pay a bus fare?No they are not. Still lots of guys with small firms.
Most of the rest work through agencies.
No everyone earns enough even when self employed to pay into pensions.
As for HMRC maybe rather than looking at the workers look at the customers who want to pay cash to save money.
Probably not increased much since I had 6 months on SSP 15 years ago, 60 odd quid a week but it might be 100 now.And how are they fixed for Statutory Sick Pay etc if they have an accident at work? Holiday pay?
I’ve had my bus pass for 8 years and have used it 3 times to go to Glasgow but it’s a godsend to many pensioners and who in their right minds could deny them that?I'll tell you what would be good though. If the state pension was so good that pensioners didn't NEED a free bus pass.
Cash in hand is also a favourite for customers who don't want to pay the 20% extra. What, asking well off pensioner's to pay a bus fare?
Work Place Pension's are tax free at source.
Cash in hand is a favourite for Tradesman, no tax and no trace.
Ya lucky fucker. So you retired at 52?I’ve been retired 10 years and I’m only 62 now. I don’t have a bus pass, I have a BMW (well, the wife does but, since she still works, I get it all day). I was fortunate enough to get the good polis pension before they fucked everyone.
I would prefer it went through the books, the Tradesmen don't. Usually a shite job done aswell. No comeback for them.Cash in hand is also a favourite for customers who don't want to pay the 20% extra.
So maybe get the state to ask customers to stop being naughty.
Don't you miss not having your er truncheon in your hand then?I’ve been retired 10 years and I’m only 62 now. I don’t have a bus pass, I have a BMW (well, the wife does but, since she still works, I get it all day). I was fortunate enough to get the good polis pension before they fucked everyone.
Not a bit Jimmy. 30 years is the maximum (or was). Baton used once in that whole time and CS spray also used once in relation to a different incident. As for pension contributions, I think we paid in 11%. The reason cops got relatively big pensions was because they were only expected to live for 5 years after finishing.Don't you miss not having your er truncheon in your hand then?![]()
Well it was meant as a wee bit of Carry On innuendo.....Not a bit Jimmy. 30 years is the maximum (or was). Less bad but a lot quicker, coming home is terrible, always delayed. No discounts for me, even though i'm a regular traveller.
Mibbe you should have stuck in at school, got a decent job and paid higher rate tax (which benefits all of us), retired early and paid tax on your pension income resulting in you not having a big bag of tatties on your shoulder?I work in Livingston. Could give free air travel to the middle east, wont be any uptake but it’s the thought that countsI think it's time us pensioners got free rail travel as well.
Not only will it piss of the folk who think they are the only ones who have ever worked but it would give us a whole new thing to moan and complain about.
I will accept though that free air travel is a step too far.
And at Easter Road there should obviously be no concession tickets for us free loaders.
I never said thatMy main annoyance is that I can’t get over things that annoy me for irritation is, surely, the indication of a weak mind.
As Confucius said, and I’m ad-libbing somewhat, “In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the centre of the target he seeks first for the failure within himself”.
I appreciate this post will annoy certain people.
Or from behind
