The absolute turgid magnificence of European football as a hibs fan.
Another step along the way to group stage football which could possibly be this eye-bleeding to watch every Thursday for weeks to come.

Was the first half really that bad, I fell asleep after 5 minutes! No but seriously, job done. We had a couple of chances, which may have made things easier...

Happy to be through and thats the main thing but as ye say the passing tonight was poor, even worse than at Ibrox. We worked hard to win the ball and just gave it away cheaply time after time. There was a moment we had a free kick in their half with 3 mins of extra time left. I was wondering if we could hold on to the ball for a minute to get us a bit closer to FT. We gave it away cheaply after 15 seconds. Just like at Ibrox that encourages the oposition, just like at Ibrox we rode our luck and got away with it. Doubt if Gent will be as accomodating if we play like that in either leg.

Still, its another big win in Europe, hopefully not the last this season.

If someone said to us on Saturday, you will beat the huns and be in the next round by Thursday bedtime, we would all have been ecstatic. So let’s FFS stop complaining.
That pitch was a shocker. Both teams couldn’t keep their balance, control or pass the ball.
The Huns appear to struggling, and gunts can’t get near Benfica reserves. It’s been no a bad week for a Hibee, let’s remember that.
Group,stages here we come. In SDG I trust. 😀

I really enjoyed the performance on Sunday but very concerned after watching that tonight. We look like a backs to the wall team just now with very little creativity. I overestimated the opposition last week, they were absolutely dreadful and unfortunately we looked to be at their level. Of course we should be happy to be in the next round but I am not going to stick my head in the sand, the quality of our play was way below what I'd expect from us. Mitigating factors at play for sure and I'd be interested to hear what the players and manager are saying post match about the heat and pitch etc. However, only positive for me today was Obita, who I thought was excellent and the clean sheet but I can't get behind that level of performance.

Superb result. That team got past the group stage in the conference league last year. 16 games in europe they played. They are ranked about 102 places above us.

The game wasent the best to watch but that park was a shocker.

That team we just beat are miles above us in Europe rankings. Many of our players are not used to the travel and the disruption which comes with European football. Not many Scottish teams travel well in this day and age, the only ones who do are dogged in their approach. It took a wonder striker for them to score over the 2 legs. Fuck me, we have plenty opportunity for doom and gloom being a Hibby. Is it hard for some to shake that, is it just the case we are prepositioned to moan like fuck cause that’s what we are used to.
Villa pumped us for 6 and Malmo I think pumped us for 8. Let’s try and collectively build a positive vibe. That’s not being deluded, it’s being happy with outcomes and getting behind our team .
