Full Time: KF Shkëndija 0 v 0 Hibs (Agg: 1 v 2)

That team we just beat are miles above us in Europe rankings. Many of our players are not used to the travel and the disruption which comes with European football. Not many Scottish teams travel well in this day and age, the only ones who do are dogged in their approach. It took a wonder striker for them to score over the 2 legs. Fuck me, we have plenty opportunity for doom and gloom being a Hibby. Is it hard for some to shake that, is it just the case we are prepositioned to moan like fuck cause that’s what we are used to.
Villa pumped us for 6 and Malmo I think pumped us for 8. Let’s try and collectively build a positive vibe. That’s not being deluded, it’s being happy with outcomes and getting behind our team .
I'd love to get on the hype train but I know what I just watched. I am on board with the euro run, looking for flights and accommodation etc for Ghent and I know things can turn around, but will always say when the football is pish. I am frustrated because I believe we can be better but that is three sub standard euro displays and we've been lucky that it's been against utter dross.

Fantastic effort from everyone to get us through this tie, especially in the conditions tonight.

I thought we would have to score, but it turns out we didn't.
Overall, we deserved to get through to the Conference league play-offs for the second season in a row.
Let's hope we can go one better this year.
Tremendous result.

Gent up next, and we just have to try to still be in the tie after next Thursdays first leg match in Belgium.

Well done Hibs, and all the fans who travelled over there.

I'd much rather we play Suto up top instead of Lowe. I'm not particularly fond of developing players for other teams and I'd rather Suto got the minutes and experience to kick on.
Lowe should be earning his place in the side, not be an automatic pick, he's done nothing yet to deserve that. Suto may not be the most technical but he has a good 6 yard box instinct, we need that.

Just got to add that we are playing like headless chickens just now. Feels like total panic especially in midfield. Drop Mulligan until he proves himself in training, he looks miles off it. If we are not going to sign a deep playmaker bring in Newell to balance the midfield as we have absolutely no control in there.

100 odd places above us in the euro rankings too I think.
Decent result for the club if we keep getting Europe.

Be a laugh if we're the only club adding coefficient points over the last few years. Show the establishment what's what.

Still think we need a lot of improvement. But it's job done. League campaigns just as important, no slowing down.

And there are *&*^ on twitter calling them a pub team.

They looked utter shite both legs, but last year they finished miles ahead of us in the euro competitions and that's no really a debate.

*&*^ are idiots.

That's Sir Dave for you, though in a nutshell. Suto is on the books, and Lowe isn't, so for some reason Lowe starts, is ineffective, and starts the next game. 3 one-on-ones with the keeper Lowe has had and scored none of them. I'd wager Suto would have scored a couple, if not all of them.

I agree, but Elding would be my pick. I think he's got more raw potential. Once he hits his stride he takes off.

But Lowe fits a type as well as apparently being able to deliver the goods. We've yet to see any ruthless finishing, but we've seen glimpses. The players in there. But physically he suits Dave ball.

Maybe coming out and talking about being top scorer etc... maybe he underestimated what it takes?

Lowe badly needs a goal to get his confidence up.
Strikers thrive on confidence, and Lowe's is low :giggley:
I never have a go at strikers if they don't get any chances created for them in front of goal, but Nathan has had a few and seems to lack composure.
He's got good attributes to his game, but he really does need to start hitting the back of the net soon.

Not playing great but a clean sheet and progressing in Europe is not to be sniffed at.

It wasn’t a great watch and Hibs are far from cohesive at the moment, but confidence and momentum are massive in football, and the last week or so has helped both.

I accept the opposition didn’t look great over both legs but don’t let that diminish a fine win.
Lots of improvement to be had for Hibs but credit to SDG and the team for navigating a tricky tie many predicted we would lose.
