Match Updates!: Hibs 1 v 2 Motherwell

Hes miles off this level, fuck knows whose thought he'd be a decent signing.

In agreement so far.
Can't get them all right, but he doesn't look up to much at all.

Spreadsheet probably looks good.

I question the sub too though. He's replaced Chaiwa? So we go from high energy, driving to a stand in the middle and track runners type.... While we're not ahead? That's a protect the lead kinda sub imo

Rarely agree with David's subs tbf, we seem to never get them right and some how end up weaker every time.

Going to be a long hard season with a defence made of chocolate.

Leaking goals ever since David Gray came...and no sign of that ending anytime soon.

We need to buy a striker whose a bit more reliable, Lowe looks decent but im not sure he looks like a reliable goalscorer week in week out. Already seen him miss a few real sitters that you cant do at this level. We dont look to have improved our squad in the window which is unforgivable

Another defeat. Another late goal conceded. Rinse and repeat. Unless we get a striker who can actually score we are goosed

Another piss poor first half. Better second half but our subs lost it for us. Need to be more clinical finishing. 19 shots.

Suto and Lowe together were a revelation though - more of a physical threat.

Even when we were on top it was just pressure, let’s not pretend it was good football. I honestly thought we were totally disjointed, timid and toothless. Nothing will change under Gray. Playing half the match with the handbrake on in the first game of the season, same as last game of last season.

Controlled that 2nd half until our usual last 5 minute blowout.
Unfortunately the players we brought on just aren't up to it yet.
We need McGrath, wright and cadds back pronto.
Suto looked better than the tail end of last season.
Wasn't overly impressed with kerr
Mulligan is going to need a few more games.
Still need pace out wide.

Not just Gray with his tactics. We lack quality in key positions. Look at the number of chances we had yet we could only score once from a penalty. Surely Suto must be good enough to start games now? I'm concerned we haven't replaced Youan with a similar style speedy attacking player and hope this is in our shopping list.

Still need pace out wide.

We need to set up with width to use it too.

Having those 2 tucked behind Lowe isn't real width, they're more secondary strikers and all 3 run the channels.
Boyle is fine. Lowe needs to be parked in the middle and Elding should be running off the shoulder.

Only plays into Boyle imo.
I think it would suit Wright and McGrath, but then what do you do with the 45 forwards we've got.

We can have a conveyor belt if the laddies are good... Rudi is no Thomson, Brown or Murray

I don't think so tbh.

Lads don't get a chance to reach that level. Thomson Brown and Murray wouldn't get thrown into the deep end nowadays either.

Bottom 6 sides and lower league sides are the only place for young players to do something now.

I think you rise to the level you play. If you're good enough.
So you need proper minutes at the level to learn the level and raise your game.
You can't learn to play at this level by doing anything else imo.

John McGinn, we could all see he had talent, it's unquestionable.
But he didn't look like a European cup winner at Easter Road. When he left Easter Road he didn't look like that was coming.
Wasn't until he had his year in the championship, then in his premiership season he went from strength to strength.

You need to feel the level to reach the level.

Some very worrying signs! Who the fuck scouted Abduli? Jeez!!!😮 I don't want to be critical of our new signings but fk me,it's hard not to.

I think it's now time David 😭

I think this is it for me - we’ll do fine when we have our strongest team out but a body or two down and we’ll struggle.

We drew this game last year, no doubt we were better today, but turned a draw into defeat by conceding the vital goal.

McGrath comes back in and we’re much better. I think Campbell would have been a much better sub today.

Sorry, but no — McGinn was clearly destined for the very top level, you could see that when he left.

Jason Kerr ye might be a hibby son but fuck me the defending for their winner is criminal on the left and able to mark said and charges across the field to fly into a tackle and they cut him out lay back and siad scores, jeezo
