Whisky

It's amazing. And under £50 a bottle.
Cheap as chips.......

Think Ten Hag GIF by Manchester United

SWMBO told me to order a whisky for Father’s Day from her so I have ordered the Bruichladdich “Classic Laddie” to continue my exploration of unpeated Islay Malts. At £34 on Amazon it seemed a reasonable deal.

In Morrisons yesterday which is not our usual shopping gig, i noticed they have a few malts on at very reasonable discount.
Dunno if they're good deals as i dont partake.

After a year of 'partaking', I can confidently say that any malt you think you can afford will turn out to be a wee foretaste of heaven.

Taste and preferences will arrive in their own sweet time.

You might not believe it, but I'm a fan 😉

On holiday in Yorkshire and took a bottle of Bunnahabhain Stiuireadair. Honestly, the best entry level supermarket whisky you can buy. Non chill filtered and natural colour. Great value, even at full price. A total steal when it's a Clubcard offer.

It’s in my top 5 too. Really enjoying the Bruichladdich as well though - any more unpeated Islay gems?

Those are the only two unpeated distilleries, unfortunately. All the others are on a sliding scale from a bit peaty like Caol Ila to being peat carpet bombed by Laphroaig. Funnily enough, Bruichladdich do an ultra-peated release called Octomore, which is essentially vindaloo for peat lovers.

Last day of my holidays today and I decided to get a chocolate tart and a whisky for my pudding.

Now, they put an ice cube in there that I didn't ask for, but that aside the Spanish don't half give you a measure when you ask for "a whisky".

That's a Glenfiddich 15 btw. Cost €5. I'd say back home that be a quadruple and I dread to think what it'd set you back.
