Stage 1 old when I was 50 and couldn't run as fast as I thought I could. There'll be another bus along soon enough.

This was offset when I took all 3 of my kids on holiday and I was the main contributor to the music quiz that was music of the day ๐Ÿ˜†

Stage 2 was 60 and I'm starting to stiffen up, not in a good way, what I used to do all night took all night ๐Ÿ˜…. I wake up in the morning and if I never had an ache or pain I'd think I was deed!

70 next year. My mates said I'd never make 30! A lot of good folk never make it. Bring it on!

Young folk need not apply ๐Ÿ˜†

When the lads I have known from schooldays and teenage years are becoming grandads.
When people are overtaking me when walking....always thought I was a reasonably paced walker, now folk are flying past me !
At work when discussing things that happened in the 70's and 80's and my workmates don't have a clue what i'm talking about because they weren't even born then.
I was up the city centre last Saturday night for the first time in a few years and felt intimidated....this just isn't the city I grew up in and loved going out in.

Getting old is a state of mind.
And the state of yer hips.
And the state of yer knees.
And the state of yer back.
And the state of yer lungs.
And the state of yer coupon.
Need I add the rest?

It gets worse. Sorry.๐Ÿ˜”

Anyone had someone offer them a seat on the bus? ๐Ÿ˜†

I have. First time I was only in my 50s. It was a foreigner, German I think. Only other times have been abroad.

When I had to get hearing aids when I turned 65. Then again when I had to get a bigger pill box to accommodate my increasing medication. Having turned 80 in August this year I still manage 45 minutes in the gym three times a week, I walk pretty much everywhere, still do the decorating and DIY and although that sounds good everything takes longer and longer and takes more out of me. Mrs Wishbone keeps on at me to stop or slow down and I say I can still do stuff but in my head I know she's right. Becoming deaf is the worst of the decline as my social life has disappeared and Mrs Wishbone has to make/take all the phonecalls. Still there are plenty folk a lot worse off. My wife occasionally watches an old Jerry Springer show and after ten minutes watching it with her I realise how brilliant my life still is! Plus I have lived in Gorgie for the last 20 years and when I'm out and about I look around me and I see the Gunt supporters and I realise that I am truly blessed.
My advice is DO ALL YOU CAN FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN - AND FUCK THE HEARTS!!!

The deaf caper is a complete *&*^!
I've had hearing aids since my mid/ late 40's. Allied to galloping Tinnitus it's a hell on earth.
Mine was self inflicted, but it matters not.
It is bloody awful.
My vocabulary is now 'eh?'. 'Pardon?'. 'What?' 'Sorry?(that one includes cupping yer hand behind yer lug!) 'Didna quite get that?'
In a conversation I find myself guessing an answer, which ,of course is very often wrong and gets weird looks from the other person/ persons.

Having to get an eye test and glasses for the first time.
Forgetting peoples names all the time.
Got a new number for my phone and still canโ€™t remember it but can remember my last two phone numbers lol.
Getting a senior bus pass which is good.
Going to gym then having that sudden thought at you are probably the oldest person here.

Letting out little noises like ugh when you sit up or sit down.
Let out uncontrollable farts as you're walking.
Not being able to go a single night without having to get up at least once for a piss.
Getting dressed up in your finest clobber with your designer aftershave on walking into a pub and no one not one of the opposite sex even casts a sideways glance in your direction..not even the ones that you wouldnae even if you were pissed.
Having to gingerly step down off a trestle at work because jumping off it leaves you rubbing your knees for the next 5 minutes.
Putting sub titles on when watching the TV because turning it upto a level you can barely hear has the windows rattling and the neighbours banging on the wall.
Doing stretching exercises in bed before it's safe to get up.
On the glass half full side
I get a free bus pass
Concessions
Pension
Half price season ticket
And most important I find I don't give a fuck about being outspoken where as I used to.Cos now I don't need to impress anyone anymore. ๐Ÿ˜

I canโ€™t believe that every single ailment I have read here, Iโ€™ve got. It actually makes me feel better, knowing that Iโ€™m not the only one.
I also have a c pap machine to help me sleep better. Imagine going to bed with a mask on back in the days when you were trying to pull girls.

Might have helped @Green juventine

When I started feeling like everyone around me in the boozer was far too young to be in there. They weren't.

The going for a piss in the night thing. Hate that.

Thinking that the lyrics in some modern songs are a bit too racy compared to how it used to be. They're no.

Saying the phrase 'aw aye, that place used to be called....' constantly.

Aye, my problem is not volume. I can hear most of what gets said but I can't interpret what is being said. Having to get Mrs Wisshbone to handle all the phone calls
(in and out) is really shit. Still, I can always watch Hibs to cheer myself up. :coffee1:
