What's better now?

Ah pressure cookers. That 70s / 80s destroyer of food! That again, resonates big time with me!
They're not viewed that way in France. Most regular cooks have one and will use it a few times per week, often for veg.

The last film I went to se at the cinema was Oppenheimer which was 3 hours long and it felt like it.
It was a really good well made film, but I thought it was never going to end.
I remember about 40 years ago going to see Ghandi when it came out and there was an interval during it. Whatever happened to intervals during films ?
I guess with digital technology nowadays the projectionist doesn't have to change reels

Mind when films used to have a break half way through

Last one I can think of seeing at the cinema with a break was Cry Freedom which was only 2 hours 37 minutes long, it says here on wikipedia
Or the Wee film on before the big picture with usherettes selling ice creams and chocolate ices during the interval

Or turning up any time you wanted, even if the film was half way through then you watched it to the end, waited for it to start again, then left when it reached the point where you came in. Wrap your heads round that young 'uns 😀

Personal banking.

I gave up using cash during covid.

I've got my main account and at a different bank I've got my holiday and drinking account.

My drinking account was a bit low in the pub just now so I've topped it up.

Old days, before ATMs even, you went to the bank, queued forever and if you didn't take out enough for the weekend, including Sunday, you stayed in 😀

My daughter just bought a car. She had her bank and the garage competing to get her the lowest rate. Twice she went back and forward. In my day you had to grovel to a grey man in a grey suit in a grey office pleading for a few hundred quid!
