With the growing number of paedophile rings being discovered, some of the reports into how they could have been stopped earlier beggars belief! Here is a couple of accounts of how Police messed up

One 13-year-old girl, "with disrupted clothing", was found by police in a house in the early hours with a group of men who had given her vodka. A neighbour had called the police after hearing the girl scream. The teenager was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. The men were not questioned.

A 12-year-old girl was found, being plied with alcohol, in a car with a 22-year-old man. He had indecent images of her on his phone. No action was taken.

Rather than being offered protection, teenagers groomed and coerced into having sex faced criminal charges of prostitution.

The police are overwhelmed is the biggest problem. The stuff we hear about is the tiniest tip of a gigantic iceberg. From my experience a detective regularly had at least 30 enquiries into various crimes at the one time. That has increased massively in recent years.

I have massive sympathy for the common copper, they have so much red tape/bureaucracy to deal with that it makes their job unbelievably hard. In regard to grooming gangs, Political Correctness has etched its way into both policing and council/government departments, too scared to call it out! I live down south and can honestly say that in some towns and cities is beyond a joke, Asian gangs rule the Roost without fear of incrimination.

IMHO the Police have a fear of treating everybody the same because of cultural sensibilities. South Yorkshire Police in a statement admitted their lack of response into the child grooming gangs was due to "Fear of rocking the multicultural boat" and the backlash from communities.

Don't get me wrong scum is in every walk of life but the police should be able to tackle it without impunity.

I remember as a 12 year old getting kettled up to Waverley with a bunch of Celtic fans, no matter how much I told the coppers they just kept on pushing me back into the crowd, it wasn’t until I actually got to the train station that I got away, I feckin lived in Moredun at the time Worst experience was at Ibrox, dirty Huns were attacking Hibs fans right outside the stadium, the coppers just turned their backs.

The Glasgow polis have acted that way for years. I mind being on a supporters bus on the way back from one of the cup final games in 1979. Our bus was mostly full, just waiting on a straggler and he appeared in due course but when he was walking up to the bus a bunch of rangers fans threw him to the deck and started kicking seven shades of sh#te out of him with the feds standing watching. It wasn't until we all piled off the bus and started laying in to the rangers fans that the polis decided it was time to put a stop to it. I do agree that in some areas of the law they seem reticent to act for the very reasons you put forward.

Not down south but the squad formed to target Asian gangs in Glasgow was disbanded due to fears that it was racist. Baldy and his cohorts were on their radar before they murdered an innocent boy. Might not have saved him but who knows if they would've acted differently.
