Well Done Celtic

They should have been well done. They got roasted the night. Fuck them.

A good night for Scottish Football? Or a bad night if it puts them further afield of the rest of us.

The greatest club competition that they will continue putting their effort into, hopefully we can capitalise on this when we play them. I think this is a good result for us. Well done Celtic, we'll show our thanks when we bring you crashing back down to Earth on the 29th.

Och fairs fair? They did what they had to do. Payback for that late goal last time round.

We want to see Scottish teams compete at the European level. Old enough to remember Hibs competing on the European stage and crave the day when we can see Hibs perform in European competition.

I might have agreed with the more mean-spirited here but they were doing that without about half a dozen first team regulars.

Bit spawny, and great goalkeeping from Foster, but fair goes, good revenge.

Never hear the feckin last o' it fae now on mind.....b:banger::banger::banger:

I know what you mean but all this 'great result for Scottish football' pish that will be peddled by the papers just makes me feel more for Cosgroves recent excellent piece re 'armageddon'!

Way back when we were in Belgium for the Anderlecht game (1992?) it was a 'rule' that some of the money that was earned by the Belgian teams in the European competitions was split amongst the other teams in the league to encourage competition in the domestic league. This makes too much sense and probably why it wasnt adopted over here.

Doesn't really matter the tactics or the amount of possession the Smellies had - it has to be acknowledged that it is a fine result for them.

I'm quite happy - more because I can imagine the Huns gritting their tooth and pretending it doesn't matter rather than any genuine pleasure at the Smellies winning.

Benfica will probably horse them now anyway.

Magnificent result and a superb backs to the wall performance from Celtic tonight.
Barca had so much posession but did not do a great deal with it...Forster had some excellent saves, and
Tony Watt's finish for their second goal was superb. Well deserved win for Celtic.

Narcs failed to do what Hibs did and that was get in their faces and ultimately taking their chances. :hmmm

Probably one of the reasons the Belgians now have one of the most expensive national teams in Europe/ the world.

Just back from the game with a number of fellow bouncers, we sat behind a big column and witnessed Barca pummel Celtc but far too often they tried to walk it into the net. Lennon knew that, his team we told that and Celtic blocked and broke all game. Watt's goal was well taken, they shat it when Messi scored and that 2 mile walk from Soapdodge Central to the City Centre is sair yin.

Still, the gunts are fucked so all is good in the world.

I can't join in with any congratulations. Although they're not on a par with Rangers they are nonetheless utterly vile and beneath contempt. Their arroagance, which is unsurpassed even by the Huns, an admixture of supremacist haughtiness and moral superiority totally at odds with the actuality of the club's history and culture, will only be fueled by this result. Booo! Nay ... fucking boooo!

And one of the reasons we haven't is that they, along with the club now extinct, have plundered our players for longer than I care to remember.

Celtc have, along with the complicity of the media and football authorities, self-interested club chairmen and the SevCo formerly known as Rangers, manufactured a league in which only they and Rangers OldCo would prosper and get the chance to play Barcelona, Man Utd, Milan etc. I do not see how Celtcs results in Europe are good for Scottish football. What fucking difference does it make to the rest of us? Celtcs result reflects on them but not our league. Our league is shit because they and Rangers have hoovered up most of the cash while the rest of us have struggled on trying to make ends meet. That pair of parasites have ensured that the league has no money while they march on playing the big Euro games. Had it been St Johnstone or Dundee Utd or Aberdeen who had got a result like that last night, i would have been full of praise because those teams reflect what our league is and has become.

Celtc do not represent our league as far as i`m concerned. They represent themselves and what they have become through their greed and self-interest. Maybe someone could explain to me just how this result is good for Scottish football. Will it increase sponsorship of the league perhaps.....or increase TV revenue maybe? Will SKY be desperate now to throw us all more cash? Will foreign journos be flocking to SPL games to admire the quality of the football? I mean,it must be great because Celtc beat Barcelona.....if it reflects on Scottish football will our own hacks suddenly take any interest in the teams other than Celtc or Rangers?

The manky ones result last night was indeed a good result for them.....but that`s all. A good resut FOR THEM. It means nothing to me and has no bearing on our league whatsoever imo. Our league is 11 teams who are competitive as far as i`m concerned. Celtc are something seperate......a wholly foul, self-serving, greedy organisation who would ditch the SPL tomorrow if they had the chance and never look back. Fuck them.

In general I agree wholeheartedly but.... it was at least a little bit cool, when they scored their 2nd, to see the camera shooglin about all over the place from 60k people (if indeed we can call them such) all jumpin up and down.

:thumbgrin
