Give it time...
I did just get my first completion on Ironclad, that felt good.. Apparently its gets better as well the more cards get unlocked? I'll defo revisit, just still between Balatro sessions, the gold stake haaaaas to be completed

The criticisms I've seen is it's boring and it feels empty. Some of the mechanics of the game feel too complicated apparently.

On the flip side as you are saying folk are saying 20 or so hours in they're loving it. Aside from IGN
:giggle.

I probably will pick it up soon.

Got some proper time in this now.

It is a good game. IGN must have an agenda.
It does have it's issues and flaws. Voice acting and story are secondary to the gameplay.
I saw a review that said it was like an MMO for single players and I think I'd agree.

There's plenty to do, it's far from empty, there's just no markers every 20 steps to advertise everything that there is to do.

They've stolen loads, from loads of games, and scramashed it into one incredible sandbox.

I'd recommend. I've not hit the difficulty spike yet though, I know it's coming and I know it's brutal. Can't wait 😅

Thanks for the insight into what to expect. I think IGN have buried themselves having been a relatively trustworthy source of reviews historically. An incredible turn around really for Crimson Desert.

I like the fact exploration of the world builds up your XP instead of manually having to twiddle with attributes. Heard as well the character also ages with time which is interesting.

I've been playing Kingdom Come (late to party) which is quite good. I have a bad habit of no playing all my games I buy. Feel a wee better about CD with your endorsement.
;))

There's not really a levelling or xp system, pick up tokens that award the skill points. Easy to respec too if you get smashed.
I could go on, but I think best to go as blind as possible.

First one? Met the priest? My favourite sequence in a game for a long time 😅 not finished the first one yet. Good game, just slows down at times and I'm terrible at finishing things. Burn out doing everything except getting to the end.
** If you've not already been doing it, pick nettles and other flowers for the passives!

Definitely pick it up when it comes down in price. I have a habit of buying stuff I don't always play. Hilarious though that the user rating is now 8.8 and Resident Evil Requiem is 9.4.

Yeah just the first one mate. I've been exploring and getting use to it having picked it up cheap on Steam. Thanks for the tip, hopefully get some time to play again soon.

Got Plants Vs Zombies (the OG remastered for PS5) for a tenner off the PS store on Monday for my laddie, what a fun game! He's loving it. The Vs and Co-Op modes make for good multiplayer fun too.

Has anyone bought or has any experience of these little boxes you can buy loaded with thousands of old retro games.

I built one myself. It's not too complicated if you want a fun wee project. Plenty of how to guides out there for Retropie or Batocera if you give it a Google.

The ones you buy off Temu and the like usually come with pretty cheap controllers, loads of repeated mistitled games etc...

Yeah I bought one of these game sticks. The X10 Pro is good but some of the PlayStation games a little grainy. Has a few Dreamcast games which don't look too bad. Suppose depends what systems you're looking for. Bought it for less than 25 on Tick Tock. The pads are decent but run on batteries, suppose you could always get rechargeable ones.

Have a YouTube of the retro console models and it'll give you a taster of what to expect.

Tried a couple of others but arrived broken. Good old Ali Express.

I'm sure they will perfect these in time.

You can buy hard drives loaded with games. One I have is quite good. Has games like the Witcher 3 and GTA. The odd game that doesn't work but for what I paid I can't complain
