Love a bit of Loudon. Saw him at the festival theatre many moons ago and he was great. Got his daughter Martha's autobiography to read. Which should be interesting given the song Bloody Mother Fucking Asshole is about her dad!

I've got tickets for that Fat Dog gig too. Looking forward to it. Their debut album was a cracker. One of my favorites from last year.

Sister of Mercy outside in the summer just seems wrong. Will they still have all their dry ice and smoke machines? They'll look like a bunch of vampires at a BBQ...
 
Going to see The Supernaturals at the Caves in Edinburgh on Sunday 13th April. IMO an overlooked/under-appreciated band from the indie Britpop era.
 
Dropkick Murphys in Glasgow and Manchester next week.
As an aside, went to see Peat and Diesel in Emirates Arena in Glasow last week.
First ever music concert they have hosted.

Saw the Blockheads last night at MacArts in Gala. What a brilliant gig!
They’re playing La Belle Angel tonight and I’m pretty sure there are tickets left!

I had a cassette of New Boots and Panties which I was playing in the car.
Had arranged to pick up the in-laws and unfortunately they had just got in the car when Plaistow Patricia was about to play, which I hadn't heard before.
For those who haven't heard the track, it commences with a gravel voiced Dury snarling.....
"Arseholes bastards fucking *&*^ and pricks"......

Managed to turn it off at that point, but drive home was made pretty much in silence.

Just had a look at the tickets £33 plus the usual add ons
If Dury was still around I would have payed it but think I will give it a miss
 
Next one up for us is Capercaillie’s 40th anniversary tour at Aberdeen Music Hall in May. It’s probably been 35 years since we last saw them live.
 
This week in the splendid 40 seat Speakeasy@The Voodoo rooms I saw
Multi award winning, internationally recognized Blues harmonica virtuoso, singer and masterful showman Giles Robson The only UK or European artist to appear on Chicago's legendary Alligator Records who described him as “A blues giant, absolute master of the form”.
By contrast, off to see Primal Scream next Thursday.

Yea, hard to credit it that it’s 25 years since he died.
Chas Jankel and Mike Gallagher still driving the band.
The lead singer - Mike Bennet - was pretty good, no Ian Dury but good.
There was a really good support band, the Rooks, Hamilton band.
I’d say it was the best gig I’ve been to for a long time. MacArts is a cracking venue. eXTC playing next Friday.

I was really hoping that they’d play Plaistow Patricia unfortunately the didn’t!

I was there it’s my local venue, great place. Another great night one of many I’ve had in there , I thought the support band were pretty good too , I think I’ll be back on Friday night

Yea mine too. They have really good acts there, some cracking gigs on the programme this year! Steve Lemacq featured it on his Monday show a few months back.
I can’t make it on Friday to eXTC.
I thought the Rooks were really good too.
 
Saw them twice in London in 2008 for 'Propaganda' and 'Whomp that Sucker' when they did 21x21 - absolutely brilliant!

Seen them about eight times since but holding off this time (for now) as £50 last time two years ago is now £60.
 
Although I'm going to see The Selector on the 24th, I'd remind any Ska/2-Tone amigos that Pauline Black- a 2-Tone Story is on SkyArts this Wednesday at 9.00 pm.
