Tv series

Toxic Town was really good. 2 episodes into 'Zero Day' but my god it's a slog, can't see me sticking with it. Need to find something else worth watching

Anyone watching Severance? Me and the wife been loving it.
Did the first series, started the second but got a bit bored with it......... want to know how it ends but can't be bothered watching the intervening bits now. :lookaround:

One of the best 'some war thing' ever screened.

"Say Nothing" The series follows the lives of people growing up in Belfast in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s during the troubles, interesting stuff on Gerry Adams' alleged role in the IRA and the murder of Jean McConville, one of "the disappeared".
I was joking Doc 😩

True BUT, there are a lot of young assoles going about whose aim in life is to create as much havoc as possible, knowing they will get away with it . Too many examples to specify btw . I blame lack of discipline by parents and schools . I know there are lots of good kids, but also lots of assoles as previously depicted 😡

Finished the bay now, entirely believable whodunnit 10/10 👍 no like gangs of london, where everybody goes about killing who they want and the polis are invisible, just going by the trailer btw, bit like emmerdale in fact with useless polis 🤣

I've asked this question on another thread but no answer. I'm on season 3 of Sons of Anarchy.
Does EVERY episode end with the melancholy music and sombre scenes? I can be enjoying the episode but as soon as the music starts I'm snatched back to reality and reminded how much the endings bug me.

Silent witness and the bay have similar music but easy to fast forward 😜

I ended up emailing the geezer from one of the bands whose tunes got played.

New York Irish band called Black 47. I sent him links about the Hibees. He visited Edinburgh with a touring group of young yanks but I was grafting and couldn't meet them.

But I showed him about how to get to Little Ireland.

On season 3, imo not the best season, but stick with it, it gets a lot better 👍

Just onto episode 3 of Adolescence. Very good story and some brilliant acting.

Every episode a one take filming.
Rarely a TV drama comes along which is so brilliant, so powerful, so heartrending, it affects societal thinking and brings about change.
Think Kathy come home.

Adolescence is such a TV drama.

It was TV perfection from start to finish.
It deals with the corrosive affect and massive influence of social media and the internet on young people, particularly teenage boys, and how it influences their thoughts and their behaviour as they enter manhood, regarding how they see and how they treat women and young girls.

As you say, the acting by everyone is off the scale, and episode 3 in particular, which is the interview with the child psychiatrist
and Jamie (played by 15 year old Owen Cooper in his first ever acting role) should be enough on it's own to win all the awards going next time round.
All four episodes are done in one single continuous shot. It's just mesmerising.

I've never been a parent, but I would urge anyone on hear who has youngsters, to watch this drama, difficult though at times it is to watch.
It's the social drama of our times which absolutely needed to be made, and everyone involved deserves all the plaudits they get.

Protection on ch 5. Best avoided, how do witnesses in safe houses always get killed . Happened in the second series of sherwood as well 🤡 either the script writers are crap or the police . Definitely put people off being a witness 😩

The Sherwood story was based on real life murders Joe. A corrupt bizzie gave the address to the gangsters.

The shears was made up but the husband and wife did get topped.

I think the area was called Bestwood in Nottingham where the (nae kidding) Gunn brothers ran the Bestwood Cartel.

Surgeons at the edge of life, very graphic operations . How these surgeons can see what they’re doing is nothing short of miraculous IMO . Who would think that inside of the human body looks like that . Mind blowing stuff 👏👏 to these surgeons 👍
Watched the latest episode, surgeons at the edge of life, unbelievable expertise by these guys, phenominal stuff 👏👏👏

Started to watch the excellent TV series GBH.

An absolute forgotten gem of a programme. Robert Lindsay is outstanding. You go from hating him at the start to feeling heartbroken by the end. Andrew Schofield is terrifying after having only seen him previously in Scully. Don't know what happened to him.

Aye Lindsay has you hating him right from the off.

The dafties who attack the school in the series would now be pink haired they/them/it's.

I've persevered with this but fuck me the use of music is so predictable and boring. Added to the melancholy endings add in rap shit (best way I can describe it) any time there's violence or a chase with black guys. Was the director still at school?
Yea pretty good series but utterly cringeworthy use of music.

I watched this years and years ago and thought it was decent, but definitely some cringe worthy scenes and episodes. I think I started watching it as one of the directors or something that were involved in The Shield produced it. Also noticed a lot of the actors from The Shield had roles in Son's too.

The geezer who plays Otto in Sons (and who is married to Katie Sagal) had a lot of involvement in the Shield. Kurt Sutter

Took me to season 4 before I realized Gemma was Al Bundy's wife in married with children. Mind you I never watched that, just saw the odd clip on YouTube.

Is this on Netflix or similar or can you get it on demand?
